High population making them as an asset of the society tells the story. India like country should focus on that. Gender equality, health, education and stress on grass root level in the planning can effect GDP. I proposes high population involvement in the planning.Society should be corruption free.I recommend first track justice to all.Best way introduce on line public service makes high growth. Domestic economy should be linked with national economy.Easy and smooth growth of economy is needed

city GDP calculation should include the invisibles (informal sector, household women)whose contribution are always towards development but often hidden. This index should exclude certain sector that contribute to lower HDI (tobacco products causing cancer, pollution causing health hazard)

sir,I think gov. should add more and more informal sector into formal sector like treating different branches of single entity as a single unit for eg. Sulabha int. branches or any other retail store eg.flipkart or a well brnched local shop in cities in this we gov. could get better data related to such employers and employees which will be good to count GDP of any city. Also actual income frm renting a room/office/shop shall be collectd thrgh revenue dept.in order to tax them & also get GDP no's

In this world of data analytics, collection of datas on city GDP is a must. As the writer pointed out, investors and researchers will benefit from these data points, cities will be more competitive and it will be great for them in the long run...
