The Internet of Things (IoT) can transform the agriculture industry and enable farmers to contend with the enormous challenges they face. The industry must overcome increasing water shortages, limited availability of lands, fertility of lands difficult to manage cost, while meeting the increasing consumption needs of a global population that is expected to grow by 70% by 2050.

Objective:-

New innovative IoT applications will address these issues and help in increasing the quality, quantity, sustainability and cost effectiveness of agricultural production. For example, leverage IoT can be leveraged to allow the farmers to evaluate the soil conditions, moisture level, livestock feed levels density and level of pest control. say if the level of pest control exceeds prescribed range, through sensors alarm and alerts can be generated to warn the farmers to take actions.

The purpose of “Smart Farming” is to increase the quality and quantity of agricultural production by using sensing technology to make farmers more intelligent and more connected.

sir the main problem in farming is the irrigation . We in india have lots of rivers . But there is no proper infrastructure to use that water for irrigation . Lack of canals , we waste our water , our electricity through pumps . There is no electricity problem in india if there is proper water supply from canal to all the fields . By using this we save our farmers . One more source of irrigation is drip irrigation by this also we save lots of water. thanks

the most important thing for now is to identify the agricultural land and notify the farmer that this land is to be used only for farming and nothing else. the biggest problem we are facing is the shrinking of the cultivable land. houses and shops and industries are built near the road and agriculture land is wasted.

मुझे लगता है हम एक बड़ी त्रासदी की तरफ बढ़ रहें है,जहाँ खेतीकी बात तो छोडिये पीनेके पानी केलिए भी लोग आपस में लड़ मरेंगे,हाँलाकि मनरेगा को"हर गाँव तालाब"से जोड़कर एक दूरदर्शी कदम उठाया गया है किन्तु शायद ये भी नकाफी हों &ऐसे समय ही हमें अटलजीके उस संकल्प की याद आती है जिसमे उन्होंने नदियोंको आपसमें जोड़कर जल के सदुपयोग की परिकल्पना की थी पर अफसोस वो राजनीतिके भेट चढ गया,अब भी समय है उनके इस दूरदर्शी सोंचको अमलमें लाने का&ये दोनों योजनाये जितनी शीघ्र हकिक़तकी धरातलपर उतरेगी कृषकोंका जीवन सुरक्षित होगा

Young are leaving farms to work in city due poor rain thus low income. Govt should encourages modern Hydro/vertical farming in those dry farm & work out contract farming.Partner the farmer/co-operative. U will get higher productivity/income/yields with less water. This in not rocket science as already been done in dry lands in Australia & modern cities like Singapore when land is scarce.

Rules that govern the prices of farm produce: DEMAND VS SUPPLY, in simple terms, if all the farmers grow tomato in same season, the tomato price will hit Rs. 1.00 per kg and if very less farmers grow tomato on a season, it will touch Rs.100 Problems we have today: 1. Farmers are not aware, what should be grown and when 2. Farmer will not have a clue what might be his earnings when his crop is grown. 3. Dear sir, Make all farmers as semi-government employee. I don't know what's the possibility of this. But if this comes as the system India can glow. There won't be any unemployment. And no Indian will be in farming abroad as workers. Though they have their own land. Stop subsidizing and make way for them to make them capable to afford un subsidiary items. Every Indian should be in power to comment no to receive comment. I belive only this government can make any decisions

In my view farmers should be provided solar lights at subsidised rates as they are in isolated areas the energy is free to light their homes and fields at night.education on water management should be given by agricultural societys the water trough,pipes should be made available from waste plastic available all over the country at subsidised rates .pumps with good efficiency to save on energy .appointing qualified farming consultants free of cost to give spot suggestions.

There are electronic sensors available like soil moisture sensor etc which can be used to intelligently supply water. Most of our farmers do flood irrigation which is not needed in most cases.
