Overview:-

The Internet of Things (IoT) can transform the agriculture industry and enable farmers to contend with the enormous challenges they face. The industry must overcome increasing water shortages, limited availability of lands, fertility of lands difficult to manage cost, while meeting the increasing consumption needs of a global population that is expected to grow by 70% by 2050.

Objective:-

New innovative IoT applications will address these issues and help in increasing the quality, quantity, sustainability and cost effectiveness of agricultural production. For example, leverage IoT can be leveraged to allow the farmers to evaluate the soil conditions, moisture level, livestock feed levels density and level of pest control. say if the level of pest control exceeds prescribed range, through sensors alarm and alerts can be generated to warn the farmers to take actions.

The purpose of “Smart Farming” is to increase the quality and quantity of agricultural production by using sensing technology to make farmers more intelligent and more connected.

With the help of this discussion platform we request you to share your valuable inputs on:

• How an individual or an organization may contribute to Smart Farming.
• Experiences and challenges in using technology as a tool in farming.
• Practical/workable solutions for complete imposition of the future of farming- “Smart Farming” using IoT

not achieved. Not offering loan by the Bank for buying cattle is something which can be termed as callous attitude of banks in strengthening economy. Similarly, not offering insurance to the owners of the animals who are not covered under any got schemes is highly impractical. I hope that issues will be resolved.

categories. They have categorized it in non scheme and under scheme meaning thereby the insurance companies offered insurance to those cattle which are financed by govts.etc. Further, Banks do not offer loan for purchase of cattle. I do not know what is the guideline of IRDA in this regard but in both cases the practice adopted by insurance companies and Banks are hardly conducive for the healthy economy of the country. Principally there is lot on the papers but practical implementation is yet

I want to share my experience. I applied for loan for milching cows under the scheme 'Kamdhenu Dairy Yojna' launched by State of U.P. I was not found suitable by the Bank for grant of loan. I started the project on my own and purchased 20 cows. I contacted Insurance Companies for insurance of Cows. Insurance Companies are offering insurance for those cattle which are under some subsidized schemes of Governments and they are not interested in offering insurance to animals under non schemes

We are talking about smart farming. But there is a part of India which is struggling since long - Marathawada. I am nt from that region so my knowledge about is as per online content & news. We are facing drought there, Arabian sea is within 300 odd km from Marathawada. Can't we lay pipelines to pump water from Arabian Sea and flood these drought plains.(Saline water can be treated too) Please think on this, this can be a game changer for India, for our farmers and all. #SaveMararthawada

Mr pm I think we need to highlight the slogan jai Javan and jai kishan and educate people through media about the role of a fighter & farmer. It is very easy to prepare organic manure  from home mode wastage and prepare good quality vegetable in a small area or even the stares. Everyone should proud to be a farmer . Mr PM should do some activity for this like swacha bharat.
