India is one of the leaders in sustainable development and clean energy. With the Hon PM Narendra Modi-led government’s reform-oriented, environment-friendly policies, the country has time & again shown that sound environmental policies can pave the way to a sound economy.

At the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in 2021, PM Shri Narendra Modi announced the ‘LiFE’, a mission to bring individual behavioural change at the forefront of the global climate action narrative. LIFE or Lifestyle for Environment along with the ‘Pro Planet People’ movement, aims to strengthen the efforts to overcome climate change.

LiFE will replace the prevailing 'use-and-throw’ thinking with an environmentally conscious lifestyle. The Mission is to create a global community of ‘Pro-Planet People’ (P3), who with their shared commitment will adopt and promote environmentally friendly lifestyles.

Individual Efforts Are Key to Climate Commitment

India's traditional knowledge strongly positions it to lead the narrative of addressing climate change. Like many other mass movements, LiFE aims to inspire climate action based on the mantra of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’.

MyGov invites you to share your ideas and suggestions on how to adapt to an environmentally conscious lifestyle.

1. Reduce

Few examples for the above:

Recover:- • Government has to come up with the Bio fuel plants like Jatropha and government has to provide a solution that they will buy the seeds at the designated locations through the private or government agencies. By this there will be more generation of fuel and also there will be increase in recovery of forest land. • In this nature everything is inter linked, that is if Forests are recovered automatically wildlife will gets recovered. • Government should provide proper scientific solutions for avoiding the Man-Animal conflicts. • Forest department is not much active in the low forest cover areas and they should concentrate and work with the local people for the better recovery solutions of the forest. • Under MGNREGA government is digging holes in the mountain areas however there is the usage of lot of manpower under this scheme and that which where the government has to plant the trees under this scheme along with the provision of water to those planted trees.

Renewable:- • Many farmers like my father keeps on trying to utilise the PM KUSUM it will be more helpful in generating the electricity if government concentrates in the dry areas of Andhra Pradesh in generating more solar energy. Recover:- • Government has to support farmers in man-made forests by providing Carbon Foot Print Saving Certificates to farmers who are growing long term trees in their own agricultural land, this will motivate many farmers to grow more plants in their agricultural land. Farmers were given facility to rent or sell those certificates to the industries which are generating high pollution levels into the environment in the country.
