India is one of the leaders in sustainable development and clean energy. With the Hon PM Narendra Modi-led government’s reform-oriented, environment-friendly policies, the country has time & again shown that sound environmental policies can pave the way to a sound economy.

At the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in 2021, PM Shri Narendra Modi announced the ‘LiFE’, a mission to bring individual behavioural change at the forefront of the global climate action narrative. LIFE or Lifestyle for Environment along with the ‘Pro Planet People’ movement, aims to strengthen the efforts to overcome climate change.

LiFE will replace the prevailing 'use-and-throw’ thinking with an environmentally conscious lifestyle. The Mission is to create a global community of ‘Pro-Planet People’ (P3), who with their shared commitment will adopt and promote environmentally friendly lifestyles.

Individual Efforts Are Key to Climate Commitment

India's traditional knowledge strongly positions it to lead the narrative of addressing climate change. Like many other mass movements, LiFE aims to inspire climate action based on the mantra of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’.

MyGov invites you to share your ideas and suggestions on how to adapt to an environmentally conscious lifestyle.

1. Reduce
2. Reuse
3. Recycle
4. Renewable
5. Recover
6. Re-design
7. Re-manufacture

Few examples for the above:
Reduce - Electricity, Fuel Usage
Reuse - Old Clothes, Electronics, Building materials, furniture
Recycle - Plastic, newspapers, cartons, boxes
Renewable - Solar, Wind, Hydro, Tidal, Geothermal & Biomass
Recover - Forests, rivers, soil, mountains, wildlife
Redesign - Green buildings
Remanufacture - E-waste for new purposes

Our civilisational values have taught us the importance of living in harmony with nature. Today, let’s come together to protect our environment & take forward Mission LiFE - Lifestyle for Environment.

Good morning sir, My submission is that there is no need to clean the plastic waste from anywhere if we do not use the plastic items in our day to day life. But this is very difficult task, I saw my desk and observe the plastic item, almost 90% things are made of plastic like laptop, printer, stapler, punching machine , pen stand, phone, pen, comb, key ring, office purse, flower pot, chair, spiral in note book, wires, plastic folders. So we have to take a big initia to change our daily items. now a days mobiles are very much demanding items and companies are making daily new models to attract people, which causes huge plastic waste. People will not stop buying phones, so we have to change the materials used in phones. Also govt can force to private companies to keep the strict guidelines in their tenders to use of biodegradable items.

The Green life Capture it... Utilize it.... Solar energy, solar power derived from the sun through the use of solar panels, is just one of the newest initiatives the "Going Green" movement has presented to us, in an effort to build and maintain renewable and sustainable power sources. It is becoming cheaper to make electricity from solar energy and in many situations it is now competitive with energy from coal or oil. Solar cells can be used to generate electricity from sunlight. It is a device that converts light energy into electrical energy.

Dear Prime Minister Shri Modi Ji, Namasthe. To keep the beaches clean a mobile trash collection vehicles can be parked. When someone deposits their used water bottles, plastic covers and other items in the vending machine, it should give a token. Using that token one can redeem and buy any refreshments from any the local people who sells local food items like roasted peanuts, corn, sundals, raw mangoes, cucumber etc. By doing this plastic trash will come down at the same time local people will get some money by giving back the token. We need to give some business to these local people as they are dependent on those who buys food items from them. This token method will reduce cash transactions. I believe that this can be implemented. Beach goers can deposit their trash and collect their points and redeem it or get discount from their property tax based on the Points earned by depositing the plastic wastes. I request the concerned authorities to work out on this suggestion. Jai Hind 🇮🇳

Cont'd---To ascertain water levels capacity during monsoon. It could be done once in 3 to 4 years. With modern gadgets like GPS, depth gadgets, water quality, algae growth, oxygen levels, chemistry, detectors fixed on special boats to do rapid survey with proper scaling with land marks & Co-ordinates of what is happening to our rivers.Safety of bridges in the rivers. The survey should pinpoint deteoriating conditions to improve & restore. Water is going to be very important aspect in a decade for highly populated country like ours. Special software & hardware needs to be developed & designed to store large volumes of information on central computers. For real-time monitoring of water storages in dams & rivers upto coastline. Catching the rain will be the success story & slogan for the country.

R5- Recover & maintain mangrove forests on river mouths which are eco sensitive. It's nature created reservoirs to take care of tides. The rivers swell in monsoon these areas take care of floods to certain extent. These trees are very sensitive to marine life.Govt needs to map these areas to maintain & create fresh forests wherever possible on the coast or river banks to safeguard many aspects. All rivers, dams need to be screened, mapped on central computers for water depths on either sides from shore to shore. To ascertain water levels capacity during monsoon. As people have started using Solar panels at home, we should encourage people to install rainwater harvesting systems also at home. People who have come up with their ideas to save water, help their local area people to do the same.
