Covering various economical aspects of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on the occasion of the Panchayati Raj Day celebrated annually on 24th April and the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj and MyGov provide a strong source of inspiration to all citizens of this country inviting their ideas that could support the MSMEs and Cottage Industry in Rural India through the Panchayati Raj System.

A streamlined governance, especially at the local level benefits the nation as a whole. India is a signatory to the UN 2030 Agenda to achieve inclusive and people-centric sustainable development through the 17 SDGs. Thus, with greater cooperation from the citizens of India, efforts of the Government of India and the local bodies towards a qualitative and quantitative transformation of the rural economy, the celebration of the Panchayati Raj Day would be fulfilled.

Therefore, we value your ideas and suggestions that could strengthen the Panchayati Raj System of the country in playing an instrumental role in the rural economy of India.

Last day for submission is 30th April, 2022.

Indian agrarian society focuses its economy primarily on agriculture and the cultivation of large fields. This distinguishes it from the hunter-gatherer society, which produces none of its own food, and the horticultural society, which produces food in small gardens rather than fields. Therefore we must support and promote agriculture and agriculturist (🇮🇳 formers).

MSMEs should form clusters, combining four or five panchayats to be under one cluster, One cluster should have atleast one small and medium unit of manufacturing. Encouragement should be given in those lines. Every Village should be considered to have atleast one or two manufacturing units by giving employment opportunity to the nearby people at the same way accord development in all angles. Be it transport, Lighting, connectivity, improvement, culture change as per the desires and availabiity of resources nature of the Industry to be encouraged. All the villages may not fall under this line, so Panchayats clubbing four or five may be framed under one cluster and decide on manufacturing process and type of industry as per resources. I can detail more...

Government can launch a website exclusively for cottage industry and catagorise the products available state wise. Information about where raw materials are available along with the rate. This will help many people to buy these raw materials from their nearest location at a reasonable price instead of depending on middleman and buy them at a higher price. Monthly once or twice an exhibition has to be organised in all villages. So that customers from nearby towns and cities can visit and buy these products directly from these manufacturers instead of buying at higher price in super markets or in malls. This website should have complete details of all the information about the manufacturers and the product they manufacture. Example Dolls jute bags, handicrafts, eatable items (snacks and sweets) natural herbs and spices products, items related to cattles and poultry, dress materials etc should be listed in the website. Any one can go and purchase these items directly from the sellers.
