One of the key priorities of the Government is to provide a non-adversarial and a responsive tax administration with the main objective of creating an environment conducive for achieving higher investments and growth. At the same time the focus is also on ensuring ease of doing business for the taxpayers. For individual taxpayers, Government endeavours to promote voluntary compliance by making compliance easy and reducing the cost of compliance for the taxpayers. These steps are aimed to ultimately result in buoyant revenue collections, reflecting higher growth, leading to higher standard of living and better quality of life for the citizens.

The Department of Revenue invites taxpayers and general public to provide innovative ideas and suggestions on tax policy and administrative issues with the objective of ease of doing business and reducing compliance cost for industries thereby facilitating buoyancy of revenue and increase in investment leading to higher growth.

Standardize and rectify the faulty data bases of government departments, else with wrong inputs the entire budget will yield wrong output.

Link all government department's data base and decrease the work to citizens. For example, if a car is bought, the authorized dealer should be made to complete all formalities with RTA, banks etc.instead of the citizen going to door-to-door. M-governance should be the core.

Allow government officials also interact on public fora, if there is any long pending genuine issue regarding service or governance. Entire department should not be branded in black for the greedy work of a small percentage of officers. An open debate always gives a swach Bharat.

At airports, sea ports and borders, wherever necessary issue e-challans and ask the party to pay within a week or so and try to minimize personal checking as much as possible. A senior officer should be present while rising a demand or e-challan. Display the names and e-mail IDs of the concerned senior officers if the party wants to raise a query.

In digital age, the citizen should interact with the government offices, courts, police stations, RTAs, Municipalities etc through e-mail and the personal interaction should be the final stage.

Like Service tax, make income-tax upto a limit as an indirect tax, such as TDS from salaries, rents, property transactions etc. Make an online package to track major transactions of an assessee and the department should generate pre-final annual tax demand, instead of party computing the tax liability. Why can't there be pre-paid tax and deduct liability routinely.

Avoid digging old issues with retrospective dates. In Visakhapatnam, the local authorities are demolishing properties which are transacted 10 or more years back. Along with the citizen, make the concerned officers also to bear the penalty, as they allowed that to happen during their tenure.

Recently our state government took our entire front area and gave a double TDR. But when the TDR is transacted it is subjected to IT payment. Exempt all compensations made by government tax-free and free to invest in any form of property, unlike capital gains rules.
