One of the key priorities of the Government is to provide a non-adversarial and a responsive tax administration with the main objective of creating an environment conducive for achieving higher investments and growth. At the same time the focus is also on ensuring ease of doing business for the taxpayers. For individual taxpayers, Government endeavours to promote voluntary compliance by making compliance easy and reducing the cost of compliance for the taxpayers. These steps are aimed to ultimately result in buoyant revenue collections, reflecting higher growth, leading to higher standard of living and better quality of life for the citizens.

The Department of Revenue invites taxpayers and general public to provide innovative ideas and suggestions on tax policy and administrative issues with the objective of ease of doing business and reducing compliance cost for industries thereby facilitating buoyancy of revenue and increase in investment leading to higher growth.

I think in order to improve compliance, a part of tax deposited by individuals should go towards his social security. That part should finance his pension when he attains his retirement. This is particularly so in case of self employed people, who do not have a pension coming in. This would mean a person who has been payin taxes but in his old age gets auto support and is not dependent . This way people will feel that taxes paid will help them in old age

I Am a CA in practice and focus on Start-ups. During my work, I have seen that MCA & Service tax departments are most efficient and the whole registration process can be handled online with no corruption or interaction with officers. But in some departments like VAT,partnership (Registrar of firms), Profession Tax, FSSAI,IE code, BBMP license, Shops & estb. etc.. (mostly state licence) no registration can be done with out bribe. The MCA & ST model should be adopted for all departments.

A new requirement has come where all forms need to be digitally signed- this is good, but getting a DSC is a big headache- forms need to be attested by a bank manager or gazetted officer. Why can't a CA or notary attest them? also the DSC are issued only for 2 yrs and they need to be renewed. Registering these DSC on websites is also a hassel as there will be java problems. the DSC process should b simplified and issued for 5yrs with easy renewal & auto registration on all website(MCA,IT).

Why should the due date be different for each month for different acts? eg. for TDS for all months it is 7th of next month but for march it is 30 April. 7th is a very tight date as the accounts for many businesses would not be completed. Also each law/Act (PF,ESI,PT,TDS,ST,VAT etc..) has different due dates: 6th,7th,15th,20 etc... Can't all Due dates be standardized to 20th of each month for all Acts?

TDS suggestions cont..: 4.Why are the rates different? Can't we work out an in between rate based on data which will be standard for all? say 4% or 6 %? or only 2 rates? 5.Can't all the slabs be same? some sections say if it exceeds Rs. 30,000/- some 5000/- some 75,000/- etc.

TDS: 1.Let the payment be made simple where the assessee need not mention the section towards which he is paying, Company or non company deductee etc.. 2.While paying the TDS itself, why can't there be option to mention the PAN of the party. This way there is no need to file Qtrly returns and people will get credit of tax directly. 3.The Assessment year and financial year creates big confusion and if wrongly selected becomes a head ache to correct- why can't there just be fY?

Surplus tax refund: After filing ITR a tax payer some times ends up paying more tax and expects refund. The refund process is painful involving huge delay and chances for corruption. I hear the process has been streamlined these days. I suggest a simpler approach. A tax payer should be allowed to adjust his last year refund amount in the current year tax calculation. This way most of the tax payers will not have to worry about refund. You may want to put some checks in limit on amount.

Dear modiji, Why cant give tax exemption for all loans such as personal loan etc, because so many middle class employee earning money near by 5lac per annum in that family expenditure around 4 lac per annum.if they have loan means they have to pay interest and tax also yearly . so, middle c'as person could not save the money for their childrens for future. if you give tax exemption for loans, interst is benefit for government and employee also will get benefit
