One of the pillars of Digital India is to provide pan-India internet access through broadband highways. In sync to this, BharatNet is being successfully executed to provide optical fiber connection to 2,50,000 Gram Panchayats by 2019. Some experts have suggested that India can leverage its current cable infrastructure to provide last mile internet access via cable lines and ensure internet for all.

In this regard, MyGov is inviting citizens of India to give suggestions on policy and technology infrastructure that can lead to this access revolution, fulfilling the below-mentioned objectives
1) What are the possibilities from policy and technology perspective to maximize the usage of our cable network?
2) What are the potential challenges that could emerge in this process?
3) On comparing opportunities to challenges, does this emerge as a viable option?

ISRO became very famous among world and capable of launching satellite for people's broadband requirements. They have recently launched GSAT for all our communication needs and if it succeed entire communication towers can be replaced. Like this with this type satellites one and all among entire India can have internet facility. Please contact ISRO and try on this which will cost you one tenth of the wired broadband cost and the speed will be multiple. Please give reply if my suggestion is work

Cable TV is cheap & popular in towns but not in rural areas. DTH STB can be upgraded for internet at high speed. Cable wires get old and signal leaking begins. Cable routes become an issue among quarrelsome neighbors. During festive season & rainy season cable is damaged manually by miscreants. Cable wires are costly. Internet viruses may hack the costly LED TV software. Customers pay cable operator as per their convenience. Data security & privacy may get affected. DTH is better for broadband.

Physical security and resistance to tapping in broadband service should be enforced, along with all user traffic should be encrypted with high key length to prevent any cyber threats.Fibre optic cable serves nearby these requirements at some extent. Also traffic rate is also important and security of underneath broadband cable should be taken care.

Electricity Distribution companies should be allowed and asked to circulate and maintain OFC cable network through their existing infra.
