Inviting Suggestions on Draft India Data Accessibility & Use Policy 2022

The draft India Data Accessibility and Use Policy was published on MeitY website on February 21, 2022. Since its publication, MeitY has been receiving several comments and suggestions on the draft policy. It’s also observed that there is a need to bring in some more clarity with regard to some of the clauses in the draft policy so that the objectives of the Data Accessibility policy to enable better services is made amply clear. These clauses will be finalized after getting inputs of stakeholders in the consultation process Accordingly the draft policy document for consultations is being shared here.

sir great initiative only thing is recurrent biometric and asking for certificates to be avoided. for example with pan card and aadhar number all documents to be submitted and the documents which are already submitted while making aadhar should not be asked again. even you can ask one mobile number to be ragisterd along with that and for ever.that mobile number will then be blocked for him.

There should be a data showing how many members have sent their ideas and suggestions? Among them how many members has given constructive and best recommendations or suggestions? Out of that how many ideas were considered? If any suggestion is implemented it should be informed to the use who had suggested it and they should be issued with a participation certificate signed by the Government authorised officials. This has to be done as an encouragement. Likewise a Participation Certificate (hard copy) signed by the Prime Minister and the President of India has to be issued to those who score 50,000 and above Activity Points in My Gov. This is a real recognition of the uses time and effort taken by them to help the Government. Those who scores 1,00,000+ Points should be given with a chance to meet the Prime Minister and receive a Certificate as Nation Builders. This has to be done to encourage youngsters and make them to get actively involved with My Gov activities. Thanks

Dear Sir.. There should be a transparent system to get updates on the Grievances posted. Some officials close the petition without giving any valid reason or say a lame excuse and close the file. This should not happen. Likewise when any suggestions conveyed in My Gov is considered the concerned authorities has to send a mail and update those who has given constructive ideas or suggestions. This will only prove that the Government officials are reading the suggestions posted in My Gov App or in the portal. A prompt update on the action taken by the concerned department should be sent within 3 weeks. My Grievance posted in CPGRAMS is not cleared even after 2 years. I believe that suggestions sent to My Gov are properly read and they are forwarded to the concerned authorities to take action. I believe that all the constructive ideas given so far are duly considered and it is implemented by the Government. A participation certificate for the best idea suggested has to sent.

The draft policy says that each central ministry or department will have to define its data retention period for specific datasets and ensure compliance with the same while managing storage and sharing of datasets. “A broad set of guidelines would be standardised and provided to help ministries and departments define their data retention policy,” it says.

All governmental ministries and departments have been directed to create searchable data inventories with distinct metadata and data dictionaries. All of these inventories will be federated into a government-wide searchable database for government-to-government data sharing to minimise data duplication.
