During the year 2015-16, India spent Rs.4.82 lakh crores on imports to fulfill domestic demand. To reduce the import burden, and also to work towards to a greener environment, it is proposed to avoid usage of Petrol/Diesel for one day in a week.

Our Hon’ble Prime Minister has urged all citizens to avoid usage of Petrol/Diesel for one day in a week. He has said that if 125 crore Indians pledge to do this, the dream of a ‘New India’ can be achieved.

Citizens are invited to suggest ways for encouraging and motivating the masses to avoid the usage of Petrol/Diesel for one day, every week.

Following suggestions may help 1) Along with thorough tube/metro rail network a)Cable car services for cities with smaller roads 2)If overhead bridges are designed just above/beneath metro rail it will save tremendous space on roads which can be converted into green belt. 3)Vast grid for cycles so that person can get bicycle at any/selected location on rent and can handover at any/selected places. 4) Finely designed cycle tracks so that we can enjoy riding without any barrier. Thank you

Dear All, My suggestions are as follow: 1) Use Public transport.(Eg: in delhi metro if we use public transport for monday user will get 20% rebate on tarrif in place of 10%) 2) Talk to top corporate leaders and tell them to give message to their employees to go for car pool or use car pooling. 3) Inside railway coach put a pamphlet like Save petrol and benefits of saving petrol(Psychology hits the mind of the people) #save petrol

Dear All; Can we think of availing/having world class public transport instead? It is ground fact that for many years previous govts. didn't look into empowering public transport. I belong to Pune which is one of the fastest growing city in India but we NEVER USE public transport because it is the most unreliable and inconvenient mode of commuting. Hence I believe if all major/ developing cities are given with vast and best network of tube/metro rail it will help beyond imagination.

Yes I think it is a wonderful idea that has been brought up by our honourable prime minister narendra midi. I think OT is necessary for all the Indians to avoid the use of vehicles Atleast one day in a week. This would really help the nation to control pollution in the country . This would be a a new step that all Indians would take to develop the country. Also this will help to reduce the traffic on the road . This will also help to save our natural resource that is petrol and diesel. l

As this is a millennial Generation I recommend CARPOOL. It will not only save fuel but also made your relations healthy and sound in the society. Today, we all lack of time and as a consequence the public life is almost killed. This will give an opportunity to revive and rejuvenate social relations. AAJ KI BACHAT KAL KA BHAVISHYA.

Public Transport should be strengthened in all cities / towns so as to avail the facility within a radius of 0.5 to 1.00 KM by the citizens. Incentives/ Rebate may be declared by the Government in Income Tax to all tax paying citizens who are using Public Transport system. Local trains like in Mumbai may be introduced in all Metro / Big cities instead of Metro Trains. Introduction of Circular Trains with connected bus facilities may be explored. S. K. Vaidya, Chi
