Continuously increasing population in these areas due to cheaper residence as compare to Mumbai or Thane in a short span of time Kalyan Dombivli got over crowded with less facilities like transport system, electricity, water shortage. City packed without proper town planning. Roads are narrow & congested with high level of polluted air without proper city planning. Everyday life of people here must be easy and smooth because more then 90% of population living here is working class.

I think what is more important is to start with the basics for the Smart City Project which is proper roads, 24 hour power & water , availability of clean toilets so people dont urinate in the open, Strict rules / penalties for those who litter around and make the place untidy ,increase in the number of cameras at public places , Street Lights everywhere. These are the basic things to start with and Govt should concentrate on this first for this dream to come true

We can plan for highspeed waterway connectivity from Dombivli to Thane-Vasai and Dombivli to Navi-Mumbai and greater Mumbai. That will dramatically reduce the load on the road and rail transport which has got saturated.

A world class air conditioned well-stocked library is required.
Dombivli being a cultural hub; we need a world class theatre.
Complete transparency on what work KDMC has planned for each area for a year, whom it is contracted to, estimated start date, completion date etc to be published in fortnight newsletters.
Police stations to be mordernized and policepersons given advanced training in core and soft skills.

e-newsletters to be shared on fortnight basis and constant feedback sought from residents for improvements in their areas. as there are many housing blocks; roofing with solar-panels can be placed to derive green energy. The entire city can form a one big grid.
Every major road to have a high-resolution CC TV cam and be constantly monitored.
House-keeping and staffs to be mordernized and given proper uniforms and equipments.

Dombivli - Kalyan's problem is: 1) it is one of highly populated suburban cities in India with a small area. Transportation within the city is a major concern; where Monorail can do the trick. Dombivli and Kalyan railway stations are the hubs which can also have monorail connectivity.
Another issue is pollution due to large number of auto-rickshaws plying-which can be drastically reduced and/or converted to gas. #SmartCity, #KalyanDombivli, #MyGov
