Online authentication using Aadhaar, which is already being offered as an authentication mechanism by UIDAI, can be made seamless if mobile numbers of individuals are linked to their Aadhaar numbers. This would do away with users providing Aadhaar number for every transaction as their mobile numbers would represent their Aadhaar number.

Ideas and suggestions are welcome on the Concept Paper on how mobile phones and Aadhaar could be linked so that mobile phones can be used as instruments for online electronic authentication of individuals’ identities.

The suggestions may include technical architecture and solutions, Use Cases, policy guidelines, process improvements, implementation mechanisms, etc.

The last date for submission of your comments is 12th February, 2015.

Yashwant sinha blog -Creating more headroom for PSU banks to raise resources. I was a little disappointed when the NDA government stuck to the UPA formulation of not reducing government’s equity in public sector banks below 51%. When I was finance minister, I had introduced a Bill for reducing government’s equity in banks gradually to 33%.

Yashwant Sinha's blog - The raising of foreign capital, especially from the NRIs through the State Bank of India (SBI). Under Vajpayee, we had raised almost $10 billion through the Resurgent India Bonds and the Millennium Development Bonds issued by the SBI. Given the easy global liquidity situation, such ascheme will attract NRIs.

Justice delayed is justice denied. Legal processes run to decades. Every rescheduling costs weeks. Frivolous arguments full of fallacies are being used to delay the process. We may be rehashing the same logic repeatedly for a number of cases. Court operations being digitized, and initial arguments may be being based on web based submissions, to reduce cycle time drastically. Software to test the logic of an argument are available. Face to face hearing can be limited to validate submissions.

Government digitization has been very good in certain areas such as railway reservations, income tax filing, and internet banking. Likewise government data can also be published freely for the nation to benefit from it. For example, imports and exports related data at detailed transactions level can be made public. Such data should enable companies to study import pattern and seek to produce such goods within the country. The data should be at detail level to enable market potential assessment.
