I would love if the Indian diplomatic missions stationed abroad are encouraged to interact with the Indian population staying their respective countries and through them organize various activities to promote various aspects of India. For instance, in Japan, there are many academic associations like Thai-Japanese, China-Jaoanese, US-Japan and many such associations working on specific areas, but at least in Japan, we do not have any such organization. Indian mission in Japan can take initiative.

Why don't we have dual citizenship? Just because I move to US or UK or Europe, doesn't mean that I have to give up my Indian citizenship. I want to be tied back to my home country and the best way is by keeping the Indian citizenship alive. A PIO or OCI does not take the place of retaining your Indian citizenship. You feel an outsider if you have to take a visa for coming back to your home country.

NRIs view: The biggest challenges are corruption, environmental pollution, lack of education, violence, lack of opportunities, unequal pay structures, food/water contamination (of all sorts), religious and personal vendetta, lack of respect, pulling down mentality, lack of traffic sense, feeling of complete chaos...... I hope we all can contribute and fix all these. Its TIME to create a beautiful INDIA, a gift from this generation to the next. World is eagerly watching!!

I would request the government to look into the problems of NRI's living in Spain as they are facing lots of problems getting there passports renewed from Indian embassy Madrid, as a matter of fact we are treated as dirt in our own embassy , India is one of the world's growing economy yet it takes up to (10) eight weeks to renew our passports which have been issued by the same embassy .

I would request the government to review the policy regarding Indian citizens who for economic and career reasons opt for citizenship of western countries. On doing so, we do not give up our ties with our motherland. Then why are we treated worse than foreigners? In order to cancel the Indian passport we are required to pay over $100 each and then again over $200 to obtain OCI.

Give voting rights to NRIs. It will make them feel like a part of India. Most advanced countries support dual citizenship. Dual citizenship will be ultimate, voting rights is a minimum.

Dear Sir, Increase NRI investment in India. As of now, NRIs can invest in India through NRO/NRE accounts which is very good. However, due to the restriction on outflow of funds in case of need, many people are hesitant in investing. You outlined quite a few initiatives in simplifying procedures like combining OCI and PIO, visa on arrival etc. which is great. It will help India in getting more investments if rules related to outflow are relaxed (atleast for NRI if not foreign investors)

I will be the first to buy this insurance for my family if respected Narendra Modi launches it. Many thanks for your time. Jai Hind

It is my firm belief that such an NRI insurance policy will be wildly popular. This will generate huge amounts of foreign currency for India. It will generate much foreign currency reserves for India, with little risk attached, since the possibility of a mass exodus of Indians from foreign nations is both unlikely and almost a political impossibility. The Indian government will not only generate money, but also goodwill, of Indians living abroad and their families in India.

So why not offer us all an NRI insurance where we pay the government of India an annual or monthly fee and buy insurance policy for our families so that, in case we pardesi’s are in trouble in pardes, our government in India helps us to get back home safely and looks after us until we get back on track. This can be further extended to loss of employment (just like the Indian doctors were sent back by UK government) or any legal case against Indians.
