-Indian embassies abroad should be developed as marketing offices and information kiosks with a professional approach. We donot find that in most of our embassies abroad however other countries do that very well. -Organise a photography compeition for unknown and unexplord tourist spots in India, and reward can be selection of the pics for use in Information Phamplets and promotional material for Tourism India.

on improvement of this forum, I would suggest creating specific topics for discussion with drop down menus on subtopics of discussion so that the comments can be more relevant on an area. E.g. under tourism it can be Infrastructure, Marketing and publicity, SMEs contribution, Vokunteering etc. This applies for other groups and discussions as well to make it more objective and practical.

-Embassies need to consider each NRI an ambassador for promoting tourism and India. Many are willing to contribute as Volunteers but there is no direction. -We need a complete image makeover for Brand Tourism India to demolish the notions about us abroad. Zero defect policy in terms of safety, security, cleanliness and hygiene must on tourism spots. -Engage locals around such tourist spots better for employment as well as volunteering, with professional trainings to provide world class service.

I would suggest the following: -Dedicated tourism infrastructure to support it as an industry as important as others. The potential is still extremely under-explored. -Re-identification and development of new natural tourist spots that are world class in terms of beauty but nobody knows them outside. -Completely fresh professional marketing plan and publicity abroad though Embassies and other Govt and private agencies. For Gods sake replace those faded decade old photos hanging in almost all.

When a foreign national applies for a tourist visa in the Indian consulate, he/she can be given an option of connecting to NRI's in his/her country belonging to native Indian places where the tourist wants to visit. The tourist can get first hand information and NRIs can help promoting local business in India. Tourism dept can initiate a programme asking for volunteer NRIs for this purpose. Need to have a check though against commercial exploitation or financial scams

First take nri's into confidence that India is a safe clean and tourist friendly nation... then in case where the meetings are held by nri's they should be incited to conduct it here in India... SPL incentives should be provided...

handicapped judicial system harassing the helpers and investors and common people whoever wants to participate in the nation building. Then why people will get discouraged at huge cost. The only solution for this is stop corruption and make judicial system fast, fair, free, and fortress.
