The Policy on Collaborative Application development by Opening the source code of Applications intends to increase the pace of application development and rapid roll out/ implementation by adopting the principles of open-source development model. Government wants to promote reuse of existing developed applications. Successful running applications and new applications are envisaged to be developed within the public domain by opening the application source code and it is also intended to encourage innovation inside and outside Government by encouraging collaborative development to achieve better products in less time.

e-Gov application source open approach—including the use and release of application source to public—can reduce costs, reduce development time, and improve overall quality, including security through increased transparency and mass peer review.

If the most laziest system named National Informatics Centre is ready to accept the challenge of continous supervision of open source apps till its existence, then only i can be optimistic about the idea. else ........ oh just leave it !!

Even though if i can believe that Modi govt is efficient in continuously supervising the app, how can the next govt handle it? We need to think about the consequences in the future. Does anyone have any answer about it? If anyone has then definitely i would like to hear it.

I strongly oppose the move of developing open source apps. Bcoz- The biggest open source platform, handled by most efficient system named Google, finds it hard to protect its users from unethical practices, then how can I expect the least efficient system named govt of India can handle to protect the interests of genuine users? Its easy to develop a app, but very difficult to maintain it, fighting against bugs, being up to date in applying latest tech, are the tasks that govt actually cant do.:(

This transparency of live web cast will increase the faith on our recruitment system. Same concept should also be implemented in recruiting teachers/professors in particular as teacher can change the society . Hope if this is implemented in state ruled by BJP can create a good image of govt. Jai Hind

Can we develop online application to find the info of our country on single page. Like Google application wherein we can found everything in the world on single platform. In same way can we develop gov. portal, Wherein we can provide all info of India on this platform to world for their Research/Analysis. B’coz currently if anyone want any info regarding to our country for research they needs to search multiple web sides & many times they failed. For example - tourism areas, Industries, education, agriculture, health info

Sir I my suggestions is regarding more transparent in governance, as you will also appreciate that if we appoint good people our most of the problems will be resolved. India is a country known for education world wide. So in my view we should request UPSC to start from next recruitment live web casting of all the interviews , this will help all the students to learn from the success as well as failure students both. And also one can also learn where he has committed the mistakes.
