Pravasi Bharatiya Divas has emerged as a wonderful forum to strengthen the bond between the diaspora and the people of India. It offers unlimited opportunities for India to gain from the skill and insight of the diaspora, who have been the pride of India across the world.

This forum seeks inputs on how to further sharpen the focus of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas for the overall development of India. Share your views on what more can be done to make the interaction between the NRIs and the Government more productive and impactful. How can India receive more investment not only from the diaspora but also from the world at large?

If you find global best practices of how various Governments have been innovatively engaging with their diaspora through such summits, you can share the same here too.

Many people go abroad for jobs leaving behind their elderly parents alone here in India. If parents are single or aged then there are many concerns about their health, proper medical treatment and their care etc. Fully dedicated old age home for NRI Pravasi Bharatiya should be made in various states so that both aged parents in India and abroad working sibling is free from worry and even old parents have problem free n better quality of life here even without their son or daughter living here.

An NRI returning home finds big harassment at customs at airport. The customs rules and regulations are not transparent. What information I see on the customs website and at airport are totally different. The customs people produce the rules at the airport which is not available any where. Kindly make the entry of an NRI into the country into a pleasant one. At least make the latest official customs rules and regulations available on their website, so that we can produce it as a proof.

Housing and construction is one sector in India that has been and continues to see demand from Indian diaspora - I believe if we can extend this source of investment into other areas as well in the form of an angel fund, it would help trigger wider economic activity. To make this happen, Gov may setup an exchange that lists potential ideas from companies and those interested indian diaspora may invest in such startups. Exchange may have to setup some basic safeguards to prevent any misuse.

There is a Government Organisation called APEDA which has nominated several agencies to inspect and issue Organic Certification to farmer groups, manufacturers, exporters, traders, etc. However, APEDA has not fixed any fees structure or standard procedures for these unscrupulous certifying agencies who have their own norms and fees structure. They virtually flees the community with unethical procedures, methods, systems (so called) rules and regulations in the name of APEDA. Will APEDA act?

Black Money Honorable PM Modiji, I congratulate on the crusade on black money being initiated by your government. My expectation is no one will be protected and all black money hoarders will be brought to court. However, I want to highlight the rampant black money generation in property market. Be it an individual seller or a property developer, the demand is always to pay 50% of the sell price in cash as black money and another 50% by cheque. I think the property sale needs massive regulati

To improve law and order in India, I think judiciary should be taken into emergency services like medical and police, then only we will be able to give fast and reliable judgement. I am a doctor, if a doctor can work 24x7, why can't judges and lawyers?
