PROMOTE RESEARCH FROM GRAM TO NATIONAL LEVEL MEAN SMALL SCIENCE FROM SMALL BRAIN BECOME NATIONAL THOUGHTS AND SCIENCE. I believe we should utilize creative and innovative children minds. they are fearless and have their own perspective on same problems. Engage them in games, sports and cultural activities to improve creativity.

Be merciless in creating world class research institution. Don't listen to any socialist reformer or a shoddy politician in this regard. Ask people from Harvard, MIT, Stanford etc, to start collaborative research arm in India and create a campaign for private and public funding for the same. These institutes must be self sufficient one day, but till then invest in very limited numbers but to a very great extent. Give incentives to geniuses to serve India; to all nationalities, & not only indians

I really wonder what percentage of the expenditure (0.8%) of R&D is actually spent on the research related to education in India. As far as I am aware, there are very few grants available to conduct research related to review, investigate or evaluate impact of any new policy or innovative step taken by MHRD. Funding for Research in Education also need to be enhanced.

Other more general suggestions: 1. Let the student figure out what they want to work on rather than being told by teachers/prof. on their research topic. This will actually require a lot more supervision from the teacher than currently given 2. Enable the structure so that it is inter-disciplinary research is promoted rather than forced

Suggestions for promoting research in application oriented fields 1. In higher education (Bachelors and above), let students use instruments, equipment themselves. 2. Allow grant suitable for a particular research rather than having a cap. At the same time, force PIs to look out for collaboration with industry/other institutes to enable utilization of resources. 3. Promote joint industry-academic institute collaboration even for Ph.D. and Masters thesis.
