Suggestions from my experience in IIT: We see most of the researchers, PhD students etc., after graduating, can only get teaching jobs. A very very few of them could get into industry (R&D). There should be more collaborative research with industry and the most imp. thing is the involvement of students in these projects. Faculty should be encouraged to involve in collaborative research with other faculties of same or different IIT's involving students.

Also, the biggest problem which I have seen, even in IIT's, are delays and lengthy procedure in procurement of lab equipment and materials for research. Students just spend nothing for lack of proper materials/equpiments and to import them, takes a long time, needs a lengthy procedure of approval from higher authorities. The procedures should be simplified and requirements of researchers in IITs for getting adequate lab equipments should be fulfilled on a priority basis.

From my experience in IIT, i feel there should be more encouragement of collaborative research, forming different "RESEARCH GROUPS" among professors and students and working on a specific problem and to undertake more industrial projects with involvement of students in those projects.

1. This era is a science and technology era and the practical are disappeared in all classes upto 10th class. Previously there were practicals in the low level classes like 9th and the students were suppose to perform the practicals of science but now a days the teacher has to demonstrate some experiments only upto class 10th where students are mere listeners. There should be involvement of students in science practicals.

Innovation implies taking first step to perform any task willfully . So , according to me it can only be increased by the Case STudies and practical Activities performed in the class . Students should also be encouraged for their work .
