Sc R&D can be only promoted by giving the students the in depth "feel" of the subject. Our education has been reduced to multiple choice question. How can a student develop descriptive and analytical knowledge? How come India is going to get researchers on the basis of present NET, which has become an objective test.

The research without social of industrial impact does not encourage the researcher. There should be an independent mechanism to pedal and navigate the research for social and industrial impact.

There is a myth that research is the domain of highly educated people. Many less educated people do worthwhile research. Due to lack of resources and direction the research either remain restricted or becomes dormant. The applied research to overcome challenges must be given recognition.

IISER's BS-MS student should be pushed to teach in High Schools with greater salary (as a lab-scientist). He would suppose to estalblish and run the science labs(which are closed) in High Schools. This way H.S Students get in contact with IISER(scientists) student and IISER student will get a job. If salary = Rs.70,000 per month # teacher in one school = 3(P,C,B) # model high School in a district =5(avg) # distric in india = 640 Total cost in salary for 1 year = 806 crore(for INDIA)

Agree with the comments made by Utkarsh Yadav and Shashi Kant Pandey Moreover there should be mandatory investment in R&D by the Large Scale and Very Large Scale industry.
