More people in India lives in Villages. Most of them work in cultivating and growing various foods. The NEED HIGHER GROWTH AS WELL AS QUALITY GOODS. The quality of their products is in doubt now. ONLY VERY RECENTLY SAY FOR 100 YEARS, THE QUALITY of Indian foods gone down. Previously it was not like that. Can anyone say why? Everybody knows the answer. The Fertilizer is the problem. How to solve it? In olden days our mode of fertilizing the field is by fermenting the natural wastes.

Unless India is strong in sciences and research, we can not prosper. In case of Science, Technology and Innovation, motivation for students and teachers /faculty is of utmost importance. Secondly awareness of our national needs and how to address that is also very imp. I was heading R & D Centre of a prestigious MNC for close to 25 years. My successful experience in motivating youngsters is enclosed in the PDF file.

Create a national pool of creative ideas, open to all , where funding agencies can invite proposals for research and people can patent their research ideas. This will facilitates the researchers to identify and take up problems around them, identify prospective collaborators and produce interdisciplinary work. Indian researchers can be leaders in their own right if they take up fresh problems around them and provide their innovative solutions.

Education policy should be innovation and research centric right from the school level. Acknowledge and promote quality research outside the framework of university/ institute. Put into the university system motivated and capable young people (as assistant professors) only and provide them a free hand to contribute to research. Hundreds of research journals are published in India but we lack world class research journals in most of the disciplines.

If universities take a lead in delivering quality research India can in a short period of time become an R&D destination. Universities, that harbor a variety of disciplines are the perfect places for interdisciplinary research. There is no dearth of funds for research but creative bend of mind is missing. If teachers are overloaded (20-25 hrs of teaching in a week and administrative tasks) they cannot spare time to think for research. Make young researchers to lead as they are full of new ideas

Employees of mostly Indian company are doing "Jo saadion se chala aa raha hai " , jisme profit hai , but company like Google and other western ones are doing better research and innovating new things for the market, that's y they are trend setter. India need to research in various fields and this depends on the throughout study pattern. For e.g. field of luxury management to be introduced.
