ICT can potentially make significant difference in improving the quality of education. The National Policy of ICT in School Education envisions and provides for the development of a holistic framework of ICT support in the school system. While there have several ways in which ICT in schools are being implemented, we need to optimally use and leverage technology to achieve quality and efficiency in all of the interventions. Under this theme, we need to find solutions on how best technology can be leveraged for both school and adult education and share best practices, if any.

It is the most needed initiative. WE have seen that digital inequality surfaces at the school level itself. There are schools where education is free and there are others which charge you a whopping couple of lakhs per annum. There are those in rural areas where even electricity is a privilege. The infrastructure and the teaching staff thus are varying. ICT can be promoted only if other related things are put in place - infrastructure, skilled trainers, internet connectivity with adequate speed.

The government of India should have an online portal where every student needs to create an account. May not be made mandatory at the outset but as more and more parts of India get covered by the Digital India initiative, this can be made mandatory. This portal will have all the important achievements/ marks and all other education related things on it. Can be used for applying to jobs etc. What I am suggesting is a combination of LinkedIn and Facebook but specific to students and education.

No one can deny the impact that technology continues to have on almost every aspect of our daily lives, nor the speed with which new developments are adopted by us. Many private schools understand this and exploit technology effectively. We can now assume that via technology, much of knowledge is free and readily available. Learning facts from a particular text book and demonstrating the ability to rehearse those facts under controlled examination conditions doesn’t deliver what is needed....

For promotion of ICT systems in school, the first and foremost need is to integrate it into teaching learning and that too will require a lot of infrastructural development. But main challenge again will be the contribution by the teachers and management of schools. Private schools are charging more and the govt. schools are not utilizing the systems judiciously.

We have to focus on a students creativity rather than spoon feeding everything. A student good in drawing should be provided with a curriculum of polishing his/her art. similarly, a job created asks for certain qualifications but if you are not that qualified (doesnt matter who are you practical in approach then those qualified ones) you will have to feel it like its a place you will never ever reach. Practical approach should be preferred.

Only Windows OS we use in school and this is only taught in schools... We arn't taught about LINUX\UNIX\XENIX... Or about MS DOS in middle school... How can we start using Windows OS until we don't know what actual problem we faced in DOS... And we should also be taught how problems of Windows can be easily solved by LINUX.... Be Practical In Computer Science too....

Lets see how about an introduction of a new branch in high school as technology or it, then why not teach our younger generations to be technically more advanced by teaching them this new branch in hs itself. it would have a great impact in indian society as well as indias technological advancement right.
