A multi-lingual society recognises the importance of education in languages. While there are some interventions for appointment of language teachers and promotion of classical languages, there is no comprehensive scheme or language policy and we need to have inputs on this dimension.

All educated persons can understand the importance of learning a foreign and spoken language as it is a means of communication, the only means of imparting, increasing, upgrading or sharing knowledge. In a world of globalisation learning a foreign language is the most valuable skill as it enhances opportunities in all employment fields and brings business to our growing economy. Make in India is only possible through communication and cooperation with strong partners like Germany.

Foreign languages should be given a right place in our education system. Forcing students to learn hindi without any interest is a total waste. A choice should be given to the learners instead of making a language cumpulsory.

It is the need of an hour to learn a foreign language nowdays. It will not only improve one's career opportunities but also improve one's interpersonal skills. Its very obvious to be multilingual in order to be career oriented. INDIA has a rich cultural diversity. After learning a foreign language one may propagate one's culture and get to know the others as well. In india almost 50% or above schools are offering German , French, japanese etc foreign language's nowdays. Its need of an hour.

Sanskrit and local language/mothertounge(hindi) should be made compulsary in primary education. So that children will gain some interest in them and later may opt to learn them in secondary and higher secondary education as well where we can keep them optional.

Otherwise- 1)Make mothertongue as medium of instruction for every indian. 2)He may learn English & one Indian language as opyional. 3) Sir/Madam due to language confusion- career of many candidated been destroyed..and less qualified candidated..only because of better english take the position.. and so productivity of organization reduces.

1) First of all please make it clear what is meant by "promotion of language" 2) After reading this topic i got disappointed in place of drafting a clear & universal language policy& its honest implementation, the authorities are again confused ..and using vague pharases like ' promotion of language' 3) Sir, I request you to make clear & lucid language policy- If u want all the Indians to be medium of instruction in English- no problem but do it on war level.
