The first few years of education are required to seed a positive social and developmental mindset in the child and can only be understood by the child in his mother tongue. This is not possible if the child does not understand the message. Instead it becomes a language class. So my opinion is that the primary education at least can be in the regional language, and further education (say from 4th or 5th standard) can be in English. Spoken Hindi can be introduced for a few years before 10th.

According to my view to promote our national language hindi is include hindi as a mandatory subject from 1st standard up to 12th standard(both in state syllabus as well as central syllabus). the reason for saying like this was I'm from kerala i studied state syllabus it include hindi as a subject from 4th standard only and they do not provide much priority to hindi.
