A multi-lingual society recognises the importance of education in languages. While there are some interventions for appointment of language teachers and promotion of classical languages, there is no comprehensive scheme or language policy and we need to have inputs on this dimension.

Sanskrit should be made compulsory from 1st class but not as a burden but by a fun way of learning. because we have thought enough to revive this language but it hasn't been successful all because what we have done is all of sudden we introduce sanskrit in 6th class in kvs. the children's feel alien to it. as a result no effort is done by children to learn it an end result being zero. what we should have is this language being taught from childhood that the child becomes familiar and enjoys it.

Many people think that Sanskrit is the most difficult language. But it is not. It is d most scientific and logical language. So, in St.James school, London, Sanskrit is taught from Primary school. Here, the syllabus of Sanskrit right from KG to PG is already developed and it is regularly taught in many schools. To creat a strong value system among the students and teachers, Sanskrit is the base that is why even Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar also promoted Sanskrit.

Our education policy should have more inclusive heritage of our ancient culture and should look more like being developed from our roots. If look through history of our glorious past we can see there is a language that has been a medium of expression of richest text in all the histories through out the world. what literature we have in this language is enough for us to think for centuries if we are honest enough. This sanskrit should be made an inclusive part of education system.

Namaste, As it is proved that English is not the scientific language, it is just a spoken language, so waitage for only speaking should be given in the new policy. As Sanskrit is mother of all Indian languages and the language of science, it should be promoted at a grand level. We need citizens of India who understand the great culture of our nation. And the culture is in Sanskrit. It is not at all the language of any caste or creed. It is the most purified language.

On the other hand English is being taught all over India , communication will be easier. If education system is modernised,a class eight passed student can recognise English letters &can speak &understand small sentences. The instruction on the roads & important places must be in local languages & English.I think thus cultural diversity & linguistic diversity will be saved.Unity in diversity.

One has to study three languages---1.State language ,2.English &3.Vernacular language. If one's state language & vernacular language are same , he has to learn another Indian language. This language may be classical language. It will depend on the state Govt.In practical life one may learn more languages for the sake of communication. If a Bengali does work in Kerala, he must learn Malayalam for the sake of bread & butter. So communication will not be a problem .P.T.O.

Indian languages should be technology friendly especially mobile and internet friendly.Translator machine should be developed to communicate with the students of other states. At first , Indian Govt. have to give official status to all the constitution recognized Indian languages.I am in support of vernacular medium. But what will be the medium for the Delhi based Bengali, Oriya, Tamil etc?So medium of instruction should be depend on the situation. Here state language may be the medium.P.T.O.
