In Village Primary School in Gujarat Government gives Rs 750 to each child. Giving money is not a good idea as this money is not necessarily used towards education. I think putting the same money to provide school supplies, uniforms and possibly milk in the morning would be better. Money given to parents many times goes to drug abuse etc. Seems government gives money for votes. Better use the money directly for kids benefits but doing so they may not get the votes but this should be done

I Visited my Village School in Gujarat 4 years back. Horrible conditions Slides in the play ground with big holes, Swing sets with no swings, I started a foundation tinysmilingfaces.org to help change this. Being involved i found that government needs to add free breakfast for kids. They provide lunch between 1 to 2 pm. We did a survey of 6 schools and found 80% of the kids had no food. Its difficult for teachers to teach when kid are hungry. For India to progress we need solid foundation.

Assessment authorities like NAAC needs immediate attention. Procedure for grant of accreditation must be looked into for loopholes which allows inefficient institutions to get accreditation. A scrutiny of agencies like AICTE will help our deteriorating technical education immensely. I being an alumni of UPTU noticed gross negligence of norms (eg BTech pass teaching BTech students). Kindly look functioning of these agencies, it will help our country produce engineers who are technically sound.
