Standards can be improved if there is effective assessment.Infrastructure also is important.Funding should be provided for Secondary and Higher Secondary separately.Teachers are to be provided financial and other administrative support to chalk out academic projects from Higher Secondary level onward.External intervention in the name of school management is not desirable.

Safety and security norms followed in each school must be a part of school management system. There must be a mechanism to ensure that safety and security measures are not kept as theoretical mandates, rather practically implemented in each school on regular basis. Generation of awareness for that is necessary. Also a database of schools located in natural disaster prone areas must be generated on priority basis to ensure more effective macro, meso and micro level planning for schools.

On the basis of infrastructure quality of education, and salary given to teachers the school must be graded (like A B C). The teacher should be appointed in private schools as well as Govt School through a common channel like employment exchange. Teachers working in good grading schools must be given priority in govt jobs. This will help to reduce unemployment.

Teacher motivation is best done by good and inspiring relationships, not by money and bullying. Though of course good salaries and basic discipline are also important. School standards and assessment should be used for constructive feedback and not for humiliating teachers. They should lead to imaginative and effective teaching techniques and breadth of knowledge in children, not just high test scores.
