Innovative ideas on circular economy in E-waste

Today, electronic waste poses a significant challenge for society. With the introduction of innovative features and up-gradation, people are changing their devices by discarding the old ones, thereby contributing to the generation of electronic waste significantly.

Replacing the linear systems with circular in electrical and electronic equipment intends to maximize value at each life-cycle stage by reusing, repairing, recovering remanufacturing, regenerating products and material.

Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) observes Swachhata Pakhwada 2022 from 1st February 2022 to 15th February 2022 promoting ‘E-waste se Raksha- Swachhata hi Suraksha’. Citizens are invited to share their innovative ideas on how circular economy practices can help in sustainable and efficient E-waste Management.

The best entries from the citizens will be identified by the Ministry and will be featured on the MyGov page.

The last date to receive suggestions is 15th February 2022.

Make T-shirts from pep bottles will eradicate the wastage of plastic or dumping of plastic water bottles in the bin. 8 pep bottles can be converted into a single t-shirt by recycling

It’s not difficult and there’s no need to re-invent wheel. The only thing which is missing is the passion to do it. In Japan there’s strict policy for zero emission of any hazardous waste and the doer and implementation authority keep strict vigil on it and they have zero tolerance policy on it but in India the corrupt system hands in gloves doers and govt authorities can yale us no where. First address corruption before you decide for any noble cause.

We must ensure hazardous, and recyclable waste declaration by manufacturer with proper labeling on EEE products. Govt. issue permits for waste management company they maintain waste transport vehicles & waste bins. It is covered under specific code of practices. Municipal officers annually inspect & renew waste management company and vehicle licences. These vehicles are installed with GPS tracker and all such vehicles are monitored by municipal officers from the control room. Digitalisation play a major role here. Companies approximately assess their annual waste generation qty. and pay the fees in advance fees to Municipal office charges for the supply of bins are extra. They raise online request for the disposal of waste one day before. Waste mang. Comp. inform date and time & collects waste bin through Boom truck crane vehicle. Vehicle weighment is done at disposal site and weigh slip copy is shared with users. Disposal charges get detected from the advance amount as per qty. of dis

hlo friends e waste is not so big issue only we can change over view sight, in India there are many intelligent children who make interesting things with e waste please give them chance they are very curious to make this type of thing

MRP is printed on every Electrical and Electronic products. When a buyer goes to some selling outlet, he is given two options. 1) Some discount on MRP 2) Exchange offer of old item but in this case no cash discount is applicable on MRP. Second may look quite lucrative. But when one compares the benefits of two offers, it may be found that benefits of second offer is so less that he feels that he is giving back his old item for almost free. So he may buy the item with cash discount and later he may give the old item to Kabadiwala. The manufacturers shall come out with cash discounts on MRP plus exchange bonus so that people shall give back the old items to manufacturers than giving it to Kabadiwala.
