The Indian Independence Movement incorporated the efforts by Indians to liberate the region from British, French and Portuguese and form the nation-state of India. It involved a wide spectrum of Indian political organizations, philosophies, and rebellions between 1857 and India's emergence as an unified nation-state on August 15, 1947.

We got independence after tremendous struggle, Gandhiji's nonviolence movement, morchas etc. Many leaders were shot, some were hanged, some imprisoned and dealt with cruelty by Britishers. Massacre of Jallianwala Baugh would never by forgotten. Rani of Jhansi, Shivaji, Sambhaji also were against British rule. We were not united so we came under the rule of British.
Great respect and salute to all known, unknown freedom fighters and their supporters due to whom today India is free country

India is not telling about and paying homage to Nizam Lauhar - a great freedom fighter from Lahore। He had killed around 50 British police officers during his lifetime।
