In the latest episode of Mann Ki Baat on 27th September 2020, Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi spoke about the art of storytelling. He mentioned that the history of stories is as ancient as the human civilization itself. ‘Where there is a soul, there is a story’.

As we are going to celebrate 75 years of independence, Prime Minister urged storytellers across the Nation to share stories of many inspiring events during the entire period of our enslavement. Especially, from 1857 to 1947, stories around every major or minor incident during this period can be introduced to our new generation.

“May this art of storytelling become stronger in the country, become more popularized and easier to imbibe - this is something we must all strive for”: PM Narendra Modi

Do you know of any inspiring event during the 1857-1947 freedom struggle that isn’t so well known? Maybe a long-forgotten hero who did not get as much prominence as he/she deserved? Maybe an incident which played a minor but important role in our struggle? A story you might have heard from a family elder, many years ago?

Tell us, we will feature your story for all Indians!

Share your story in the form of a video, audio clip, picture or essay.

We should always be thankful to our freedom fighters whose help we are enjoying our independent life without of any worry and tension. Struggle for independence is no doubt very tough and many of our netas have lost their lifes. We should pray for them and this is our duty to protect our freedom for our children and next generation. Freedom is birth right of every one and our children should also proud of their sacrifice

i live in a small village. there was a statue of Vashudha Singh in nearby market. I have always seen and wondered whose statue is this. asking to people who can tell me necessary details about the statue seemed a good idea. He was a great freedom fighter , who fought with British Soldiers and died some times ago. His statue was established as a tribute to him. one day I come to know that two of his great grandchildren were my classmates. I was filled with a surge of pride. thanks
