The National Energy Conservation Day is being celebrated every year on December 14 since 1991. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), under the aegis of Ministry of Power spearheads the celebrations every year. The objective to celebrate the National Energy Conservation Day is to drive mass awareness about the importance of energy efficiency and conservation.

The Role of Solar and Wind Energy Solar and wind energy are at the forefront of the green energy revolution. Solar panels convert sunlight directly into electricity, while wind turbines harness wind power. Both technologies are clean, abundant, and sustainable, reducing our dependence on fossil fuels. Hydro and Bioenergy Hydroelectric power, generated by harnessing the energy of flowing or falling water, contributes significantly to the green energy mix. Bioenergy, derived from organic materials, also plays a crucial role in achieving carbon neutrality, as it recycles carbon already present in the biosphere.
