Individual stems of bamboo are called culms. They arise from the underground rhizome and emerge from the ground fully developed.

Size of bamboo depends on the species. Largest species of bamboo can reach 1300 feet in height.

Bamboos it has incredible healing properties and also they absorbs carbon dioxide and produce oxygen and bamboo is not polluting and dose not have crusts or parts that can be considered waste.

बाँस तभी फूलता है जब सूखे के कारण खेती मारी जाती है और दुर्भिक्ष पड़ता है। शुष्क एवं गरम हवा के कारण पत्तियों के स्थान पर कलियाँ खिलती हैं। फूल खिलने पर पत्तियाँ झड़ जाती हैं। बहुत से बाँस एक वर्ष में फूलते हैं। ऐसे कुछ बाँस नीलगिरि की पहाड़ियों पर मिलते हैं। भारत में अधिकांश बाँस सामुहिक तथा सामयिक रूप से फूलते हैं। इसके बाद ही बाँस का जीवन समाप्त हो जाता है।

Poor access to clean water and sanitation contributed to many deaths mainly because of illnesses that are caused by contaminated water. Therefor clean drinking water is an essential product in the human body. Lack of clean water and proper sanitation services have adverse effects on public health across the globe
