The e-Committee, Supreme Court of India envisages a judicial system that is more accessible, efficient, and equitable for every individual who engages with the justice delivery system. The right of access to justice, guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution encompasses the right to access live court proceedings.

To imbue greater transparency, inclusivity and foster access to justice, the e-Committee has undertaken the project of live streaming of court proceedings on priority. This will enable access to live court proceedings, including on matters of public interest to citizens, journalists, civil society, academicians, and law students on a real-time basis, which was not otherwise possible owing to geographical, logistical, or infrastructural issues.

The e-Committee, Supreme Court of India invites inputs, feedback, and suggestions on the Draft Model Rules for Live-Streaming and Recording of Court Proceedings.

Before bringing IT in court proceedings why don’t we talk what are we going to do? What judgements shall be passed and based on which law? All our laws are more than 100 years old, IPC was formulated in 1860, Police act in 1861 and evidence act in 1872. What’s the point using such laws? Political parties and criminals are misusing or taking advantage of obsolete laws that’s why no one is apprehended, no corrupt is hanged and no illegal properties are seized. First change obsolete laws

The fact is that judges are also like other government employees. Doing their job with no commitment and without any responsibility. They do not study the case properly. Do not apply common sense to go into the merits of the case. Many times the higher courts make such comments about the judgement of subordinate courts. But, nowhere it is made public if there is any system to judge the judges about how many wrong judgements they give. What action is taken about such judges?

Ubder Rule 11 where access to live streaming is given, legal interns should also be added in that category because giving access to legal interns can really help them in understanding the implementation and usage of law giving them practical experience.

It obliges very much to experience the technological advancements in the Judiciary. On perusal of the draft rules, there is no rule or provision to protect the privacy of the parties amd information. To be precise, the said proceedings are available on Public domain and open to fraudsters and social engineers and no rule for securing the information. What if these video are used in social engineering or phising? Draft is ready for resolving the issue, kindly contact.

Live streaming and recording videos of court us good and very useful to innovative ideas which should be highly appreciated and should be given preference.It should applied for all important cases which belongs to national and international issues.It will provide transparency of Indian judicial system to common men and will be hopefull for getting justice .It decreases the chances of cases in future . Live streaming and recording video of court proceedings is good for transparent judgement but it may dealay the judgement so it may applied for only very very important cases which belongs to national and international issues. thank you
