The e-Committee, Supreme Court of India envisages a judicial system that is more accessible, efficient, and equitable for every individual who engages with the justice delivery system. The right of access to justice, guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution encompasses the right to access live court proceedings.

To imbue greater transparency, inclusivity and foster access to justice, the e-Committee has undertaken the project of live streaming of court proceedings on priority. This will enable access to live court proceedings, including on matters of public interest to citizens, journalists, civil society, academicians, and law students on a real-time basis, which was not otherwise possible owing to geographical, logistical, or infrastructural issues.

The e-Committee, Supreme Court of India invites inputs, feedback, and suggestions on the Draft Model Rules for Live-Streaming and Recording of Court Proceedings.

courts are final competent authority. delay in justice is infact injustice. courts should publish list and tracker to show : how many cases were registered in last 50 years no of dates , extensions given in each case time taken in closing each case which judge and lawyers took maximum dates and delayed the hearings total no of cases each judge decided and time taken by judges in each case % of judgements in favor of various lawyers PUBLISH ON PUBLIC PLATFORM CURE THE ROOTS OF CRIME

Live streaming and video covers will surely help in timely and fair justice delivery. One more initiative for transparency by honourable prime minister.

In China a civil suit worth millions of dollars is heard and a decree passed in a forenoon. The appeal, if any, is taken in the same courtroom by a senior judge in the afternoon. The final decree is passed before the court closes for the day in the evening. That is an efficient judicial system . Compare that with our outdated and corrupt judicial system. Most of the session court judges can not even write a decree! So, what is this live streaming and recording going to achieve?

What is the purpose of this? What are we achieving out of this, just starting debate on this will not help, how it is helping to serve the people/common man in our country is important, if each one of us do our duty with 100% dedication and commitment, India will be better than any other country in the world, given the intelligence, opportunities, resources that we have...

i would love that any case begins with a small history of judges .example This case handled by .. Number of year experience . Judgement given in the period ! average /year ? after all a litigant has to be confident that it is being decided by the best ! do we not see this in all pvt sector & sports ! Y not in govt . Similarly case history - start date , no of days elapsed , no of hearing done, time heard , no of tariks . just like any match or a pvt sector project where performance matters !

Does it not shame you Judiciary that you decide rates & laws for every one ! be it covid /hospital /medicine & any other pvt sector goods. but nothing in your house or govt ? how much should a lawyer charge or the govt charge for its services. all Charges unrelated but passed on to the public. e.g petrol . No performance No service delivery , no concept of time but the babus/judiciary gets pay commission & DAs ! In pvt sector u get increment based on both performance & results. No criteria here

Personal information such as date of birth of parties, home address, identity card number, bank account information, and the personal information of related parties, such as close relatives, witnesses and other participants, will be deleted or muted during live-streaming. The content of the recording would be vetted and posted, usually within three days of the conclusion of the proceedings. The content would be posted on the court website.
