The e-Committee, Supreme Court of India envisages a judicial system that is more accessible, efficient, and equitable for every individual who engages with the justice delivery system. The right of access to justice, guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution encompasses the right to access live court proceedings.

To imbue greater transparency, inclusivity and foster access to justice, the e-Committee has undertaken the project of live streaming of court proceedings on priority. This will enable access to live court proceedings, including on matters of public interest to citizens, journalists, civil society, academicians, and law students on a real-time basis, which was not otherwise possible owing to geographical, logistical, or infrastructural issues.

The e-Committee, Supreme Court of India invites inputs, feedback, and suggestions on the Draft Model Rules for Live-Streaming and Recording of Court Proceedings.

Click here to read the Draft Model Rules for Live-Streaming and Recording of Court Proceedings.

The last date to receive Suggestions/Inputs is 30th June 2021.

Live streaming is very creative idea but there the govt. has to make certain provisions that, the audience should hear only and not interrupt while it will proceed. And the govt. can make choices available for audience that they like it or not

on my point of view, live streaming should be done with limited access to the both parties, reliable media to be choosen. for avoiding any malpractice among judges and the parties we should ensure no mobile phone usage during the live streaming. no recording option must not available in the app, it should be recorded by govt only. no commercial publish if the video for any personal benefits or any community benifit. when it's happening for ladies local protection must be there for them.(importan

This is quite a beautiful idea. Along with this small court rooms can also be set up in all police stations so that monitoring can be better.

Live streaming will not only hold judges and other legal servants accountable, but will also sensitise the public in support of the judiciary.
