The city of Davanagere is located at a distance of about 260 km from the state capital of Bangalore. It is nestled at the foothills of the Western Ghats. Previously known for its cotton mills, it is a fast developing city of Karnataka. The arid town was once a thriving textile center. This place is also called as 'Manchester of Karnataka' or textile capital of South India.

Davanagere City Municpal Council came into existence on 7th Aug, 1951. Later it is upgraded as Davanagere City Corporation on 6th Jan, 2007. Presently it has jurisdiction over an area of 68.63 Sq. Kms with over 1.5 lakh properties. Davanagere City Corporation is situated at the P B Road, opposite to City Railway Station, Davanagere.

For its governance, the Davanagere City Corporation is divided into 41 wards, each represented by a Corporator. The Corporators elect the Mayor, who is the administrator of the City and serves office for a term of one year. The administration of the Corporation is vested in the Commissioner, who is designated by the State Government.

1. Flyover/under bridge for railway crossing beside Moti theatre. 2. Flyovers at the following juntions on PB road. a) In front of BSNL office near private bus stand. b) Arun theatre circle. c) In front of Puja international. 3) Wide good tar roads rather than cement roads. 4) Separate market facility for street vendors to clear the footpaths on Ashoka road, Chamarajpete, near Gadiyar Kamba, in front of BSNL office on PB road, AVK college road.

1. All enchroachments on all major roads should be removed.one big opportunity now to do so. 2. All major roads should be four laned. 3.PB road should be four laned from bypass to Doddabati for traffic flow. 4.Under ground drainage should cover the entire city. 5. check on un-controlled growth on city fringes as they create problems later 6. completion of ring road on priority 7. Study on requirement of flyovers keeping the future 30 years in mind. 8. establish IT infrastructure for growt

Stray dogs n pigs should be taken care of.. Some kind of injections are to be give so that they don't give birth after one time ..this can control stray problems . Also animal welfare centres are to be located along with orphanage centres .. Dogs can be used in conditions of the problem towards theft ....

Strict measures to be taken for those who spit in public,who throw the garbage on streets ... Plastics should be avoided,and after the disposal of plastic it should be taken care properly because cow and other animals tend to eat plastic with food stocked to it

Thinking towards human resource in building davangere smart.. As no humans are beggars, and also they are physically fit government should convince them to work,and earn..this also helps to eradicate unemployment and also we can find no beggars on street also the city looks well to do ....
