Varanasi has been selected by MoUD, GoI under Smart City Mission Phase-I 100 cities. To be selected within 20 Cities of Phase-2, a Smart City Plan has to be prepared and submitted. ...

Varanasi has been selected by MoUD, GoI under Smart City Mission Phase-I 100 cities. To be selected within 20 Cities of Phase-2, a Smart City Plan has to be prepared and submitted. Smart City Plan will be prepared by consultation and suggestions of Citizens, Stakeholders and residents regarding city services viz 24x7 Electricity and Water supply, Sanitation & Waste Management, Street Lighting, Transportation, Roads/streets/Pedestrian lane, Health, Education, eGovernance, Tech-savvy (Communication, Internet Connectivity), Clean & Green Environment, Old men, Women & Child Security.

Citizens are requested to suggest innovative, sustainable and SMART solutions regarding services for under below area based strategies:

1. PAN City Initiative : Selection of a service by citizen for implementation of that service on entire city

2. Area Based Development: Selection of specified area rather than entire city based on three models:

a. Retrofitting: (Planning and improvement of infrastructure in an existing City built-up area of at least 500 acre)
b. Redevelopment: (Replacement of existing built-up area and co-creation of new layout with enhanced infrastructure within minimum 50 acre of area)
c. Greenfield: (Planning and development of all and entire infrastructure required for a city on at least 250 acre area Green/Open/unused land adjacent to current city limit. Land can be acquired by land pooling on PPP) based on viability

More national level educational institute should be operate. Now vMC should be focused on using alternative fuel solutions other than traditional fuel to power vehicles, plants and now when the city is becoming smart solar power may come in handy..#varanasi

I want my varanasi city where I go to work walking; my children go to school walking; parks for recreation for my parents, pollution free air to breathe, water in my taps,electricity in my wire, sustainable development by clean energy and enviornment, jobs for all. A city where garbage is worth a dime and waste water is invisible. A city where government responds to its citizens on real time basis; where solutions are smart and problems look dumb. A modern city which cherishes its culture.
