A Smart City what I imagine should be a liveable and a lovable city. It should provide adequate housing for citizens, Mobility Convenience with Pedestrian Friendly Streets, Must have space for Social Gathering/Entertainment and should also provide Job Opportunities. It must provide basic infrastructure such as Water Supply, Sanitation (Sewer Lines, Drains and Solid Waste Management) and Power. Further it should also be sensitive towards the environment while endeavouring the above objectives.

A city is not smart until it manages its waste well. Waste management process should be decentralised and locality based, quick and real time. It is surprising to note that 70% of waste is organic in nature & can be reprocessed before it becomes waste or, thereafter, can be recycled in a sustainable manner. We have invented a Green Waste Reprocessor machine which re‐process all green reject and converts it into valuable by‐products. More details can be found on www.cleanindiatech.com

Hello,
Using advanced technology available to make road safer should be the prime focus. We can make not only mangaluru but all indian cities smarter. Below mentioned are few points.
1. Solar powered curve collision detection system ( Using Vehicle direction Detection Sensors).
2. Traffic congestion pointers at major junctions using vehicle detection system.
3. Pedestrian detection system at school zones to control traffic.
4. Carbon emission system to keep citizens well informed.

A few suggestions: In order to reduce traffic problem inland water transport facility should be developed in netravathi and palguni rivers upto BC rd and upto moodabidri. Solid waste and liquid waste managed scientifically. The owners of pet animals(Dog, cat etc) and live stock (Cow, goat, sheep etc) should get conditional licence and pay fee to the corporation. Beggary should be banned. Proper housing with better infrastrutcure facilities should be provided to the poor with inclusive growth.

1. Encourage natural and renewable energy usage
2. Sewerage and solid waste management may work better with smaller and area wise units - Reducing to domestic level is also workable. Why make bigger lumps and look for someone's head to bear and curse? Think of smaller and decent units to convert waste into energy
3. Tar roads are better than Concrete roads. Maintain we can.
4. Stop apartments which are never smart. Most of them are vacant.
5. Think of next generation
6. Feed back a must

Mangalore has a beautiful coastline which needs a marina.Mumbai and Cochin have a marina and sailing is encouraged in these two states with proper facility to moor your boat.sailing as a sport has to be actively promoted.Sailing in India is just in its infancy and we can make a mark if it is pushed at an early stage .

Some broader issues to make Smart city concept or any other a success:
1. Committees
i. to be detached from political parties.
ii. members to disclose their assets and liabilities and recent income tax returns.
2. Create workable formulae for killing corruption, red tapism and ambiguity.
3. All the donors and sponsorers to be scanned for black money etc
4. Prepare a master plan for 20-30 years. Funds to follow plans and not vice versa
5. Keep this door open for suggestions and grievances

A city becomes a Smart City, the citizens of city act smart themselves respecting each other; practicing patience and tolerance and not considering "I'm the first and you follow me". The issues need to be addressed are as follows:
1. Safety and Security
2. Efficient Traffic Management
3. Roads and Footpaths
4. Water and Power Supply
5. Sewage and Storm Water Drains
6. Efficient Public Transport
7. Solid Waste Management
For Economic Development:
1. Finance Center
2. Industries

1. We have to clean up all the water canal which gives a bad smell and a bad impression about manglure
Which also causes many diseases like malaria and all which spread by mosquitos
2. . Ensure the availability of the food and shelter for those who dnt hve instead of spending money by making the city wifi enabled
Smart city means it should be useful for every one in equal volume
No parciality should be there among rich and poor
3 . Footpath over the sides of the road of a good width..
