impruved bus sevice....
the current service bus station at statebank shoud be upgraded as primary city bus station..along with this lalbag bus station as secondary ...all city buses ( ksrtc & private ) shud be permitted to play from these...
and...
a full fledged central bus station shud come up at pumpwell...all service busses ( private, kasrtc , inter district/state) shoud play only from this...
thus part of bus traffic will get out of core city...

reorganisation and decentralisation...
mangalore taluq should be divided into 3 (cental north n south ) ...so that part of official activities in mangalore wudbe shifted to ullal and surathkal...then comercial commercial activity in outskirts will get a boost ....also traffic will follow the same .. thus city will get decentralise against the current situation...

According to me Smart City Should focus on:
Saving Time & Energy.
Saving Travel time by having Effective Public Transport as it directly effects productivity.
Low cost Energy will fulfill most of the problems as a smart city would highly need it.
On matter of Employment:
When overall cities will develop i believe more employment opportunities will be created.

1)There should be Public toilets besides all the bus stands which should be on pay and use basis so it can be maintained as in lines of Nirmal toilets in bangalore.
2)Ther should be dustbins all along the main roads and a strict policy in place to see that the bins are not stolen.
3)we should have a networked CCTV solution for the entire city.
4)we really need good roads in the city as well as National Highways connecting Mangaluru to various cities.
5)we want Greenery to stay
