Smart city commences with smart governance. Smart governance would be successful if the Government staff are educated and skilled in handling issues the smart way (both in attitude and in technology).
Any initiative by government will fail if it does not comprehend a comprehensive implementation

Green bin for recycling, black for deciomposable waste and yellow for glass. Each household should buy their own bins, and private company should pick up once in 1-2 weeks. Also people should ideally pay for the service but I know people would like to have free service. Indians are not ready for this at this moment - otherwise Kejriwal will come and promises it free.

Great. Security cameras can be deployed on the main roads as well as on commercial places. Also Coloured dustbins should be alloted to each house. For example blue bin for recycle only .. and green bin for daily waste. It will help a lot.

Sir, I want to say my idea about smart city. Not only for mangaluru this will applicable for all smart cities. The idea is "create a speed control sensors and fix this to all roadways within a city not outside of a city. This is used to control speed limit of a vehicle to avoid accidents. And also another one sensor that is detect speed control sensor, this will fix ambulance and fire engines because this vehicles should move fast for our human beings". We are having lot of I.T Engineers.

Mangaluru having a strong cultural identity should aim at becoming ‘Smart’ by modifying or upgrading itself without compromising its identity. Its key thrusts should be to integrate public and private collaboration using state of art technology to provide better, faster, efficient & sustainable services to citizens
