In an endeavour to address the inadequacies of capacity constraints and improve its modal share in total freight eco system of the country, Indian Railways has come up with Draft National Rail Plan.

A draft of long term strategic plan called the National Rail Plan has been developed to plan infrastructural capacity enhancement along with strategies to increase modal share of the Railways. The National Rail Plan will be a common platform for all future infrastructural, business and financial planning of the Railways. This plan is being circulated among various Ministries for their views now. Railways aim to finalise the Final plan by January 2021.

Dear sir. 1. Night security in trains - Needs improvement 2. Cargo services via Railways can capture more market by giving tough competition to private agencies - Only issue is to keep more collecting points and give offers or schemes for cargo. So that can grab more business in cargo. Recently Telangana RTC also started cargo.Railway has very good edge to pick up 3. Waiting lounges and transportation of elderly people to plateforms- Needs improvement 4. Remove subsidies to politicians

रेल बजट में आम आदमी की सुविधा के लिए लम्बी दूरी की ट्रेनों में जनरल डब्बा/बोगियों की संख्या बढ़ाई जाए।

4 long term success & sustainability Following Policy thoughts 1) Define railway accidents & 1 rule for Compensation across country ! It should not be electoral flesh , gandy marji gandy rule, harassment & $$ making tool 4 MP/MLA Babus. 2) Punishment for atkana/latkana/bhatkana individually & group right upto Ministers & Tughlaq collegium 3) Cost 4 Non adherence to punctuality -without building slack time ! 11. create "Rail-Lodge" in the station premises for passanger (specially female passengers) safety stay n long distant travellers' halt as some trains reach late night. 12. Wating hall facility n seating arrangement in the platform (as train delays). senior citizens find it difficult standing for a long time.

there should be easy means of transportation of agriculture products through train. as of now its been done by lorry service. which is raising the cost of vegetables, essential commodities. cost of food products will be lesser if we transport through train. all the district and important places needed train connectivity and more frequency goods train service

there is parking problem in railway station. there should by parking facilities nearby railway stations for cars. multi-storeyed car parking in smart city railway stations. Additional coaches may be added depending on the waiting list on reservation.
