The country is well endowed with many metallic and non-metallic mineral resources.  India is a leading player in respect of many non fuel minerals including, iron ore, bauxite, dolomite, lime stone and mica.  Mining sector (non-fuel) currently accounts for approx 0.5% of GDP.  For accelerated economic growth on sustainable basis, this sector has to grow at a much faster pace to secure   a higher percentage in the GDP.

Scientific, sustainable and transparent mining practices require well trained manpower.  Skill development not only enhances productivity and safety at work place, but more importantly, it prepares the manpower to adapt to the new state of art technologies. Currently this sector employs around 0.2 Million workforce which is estimated to grow to 0.3 Million in next 10 years.

Pardhan MantriJi, as you very well know, that mining sector comes under hazards industries act. Govt have to provides very lenient regulatory framework, so that they ( mining industry) can encourage to invest in this sector. Actually this industry provide basic Raw material for all manufacturing sector. But govt. must also take care of workers safety, most important from laborers point of view.A monitoring authority for strictly tackling illegal mining, must always be stationed at work.

Dear Sir, I want to suggest that DLS ( DayLight Saving) system should be adopted in India also.In winters days are short here so for three months i.e 15-oct to 14-jan every year we should shift our clocks by two hours early so that morning sunlight can be used and we can save lots of electricity. Regards..
