17 नवम्बर 2014 को अपने ऑस्ट्रेलियाई दौरे के दौरान माननीय प्रधानमंत्री जी ऑस्ट्रेलिया के सिडनी में रह रहे भारतीय मूल के लोगों को संबोधित करेंगे।
प्रधानमंत्री इस संबंध में ऑस्ट्रेलिया में रह रहे भारतीय लोगों के सुझाव चाहते हैं। इस फोरम को विशिष्ट रूप से प्रधानमंत्री जी के संबोधन हेतु सुझाव प्राप्त करने के लिए बनाया गया है। भारत और ऑस्ट्रेलिया के रिश्तों को विशेष रूप से व्यापार, वाणिज्य और पर्यटन के क्षेत्र में कैसे मज़बूत बनाया जाए इससे सम्बंधित सुझाव आमंत्रित किये गए हैं।

श्री मोदी जी न केवल अपने संबोधन में उन सुझावों को साझा करेंगे बल्कि उन लोगों के नाम भी बतायेंगे जिनके द्वारा यह सुझाव दिए गए हैं।

2. Granting of convenient voting rights to such dual passport-holding overseas Indians as well as overseas Indians with Indian passports (NRIs), which can be exercised either at the consulate, high commission or embassy premises in their country of residence and through postal or online facilities. India should consider taking a cue from Australia’s repeal of Section 17 of the Australian Citizenship Act 1948 that took effect from April 2002 permitting dual citizenship.

The promise of dual citizenship was made by former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee in 2003. Since then there have been statements from senior politicians about them favouring dual citizenship. But the matter has not progressed further. Statements are not enough. The following actions should be taken: 1. Granting Indian passports (dual citizenship) to overseas citizens of Indian heritage with full rights including voting and political rights.

Sirji, In our country, we've this system of MATCH MAKING/kundli milaana / horoscope matching etc.. before deciding the partnership between the two souls. Here we see that, there're so many issues, where India & Australia are together, &have a perfect match on their hand. Zaroor kundali bhi milta hoga ! It’s obvious then that, INDIA & AUSTRALIA ARE MADE FOR EACH OTHER & this relationship & partnership between these two countries are destined to grow further ! LONG – LIVE INDIA – AUSTRALIA !

I can say by my experience that the kids of Indian origin people are somewhere in the society abroad are taught to look down upon India and they gradually start doing that despite the noble efforts of their parents.Sir, hence I request you to frame an online education pattern for those kids so that they can learn about India and counter question their society whenever they feel that India is being looked down upon.This will serve another purpose of them being motivated to travel/invest in India

The Indians in Australia should be reminded of our beautiful country.We need to motivate them to keep coming to India and explore each and every corner of the Incredible India.Also, they need to be appealed to ensure that the second and later generations do not loose the touch from the Indian soil. They should be proud of their Indian roots. We can have online education board for the children of Indian origin so that they can successively learn about the great country their forefathers belong to

Sirji, The coincidences or call it, MATCHING between India & Australia are truly amazing !; We've common day on Jan. 26th as Republic day- Australia day on same day; Both have MyGov web portal; Both have a great PASSION for CRICKET ! Above all, so far.....yet so near .....out of around 194 countries, WE ARE TOGETHER....AUSTRALIA IS 6TH LARGEST & INDIA IS 7TH LARGEST IN TERMS OF AREA !

INPUT No. 28 / 28 : MYGOV ; ABOVE ALL, BOTH INDIA & AUSTRALIA HAVE MYGOV WEB PORTAL – A GOVERNMENT – PUBLIC INTERACTIVE PORTAL! True, Australian MyGov portal is a like a data bank for their citizen and it’s natural since more than 70% of people there have an access for internet. May be, some time in future, when DIGITAL INDIA becomes a reality, we can pick up the good deeds from there & who knows, INDIA can perhaps try to even better it !

DEAR JI, WHEN MODIJI COMES TO SYDNEY MAKE IT CLEAR THAT OCI MAY BE AT PAR WITH INDIAN CITIZENSHIP. OTHERWISE WITH OCI YOU CANNOT DO MUCH IN INDIA. YOU CANNOT VOTE,YOU CANNOT CONTEST ELECTIONS,YOU CANNOT BUY AGRI LANDS, YOU CANNOT BECOME MINISTERS,GOVERNORS,YOU CANNOT PRACTICE LAW, YOU CANNOT DO GOVT JOBS, YOU CANNOT GET MANY THINGS AT PART WITH INDIANS. SO ASK MODIJI TO MAKE INDIAN OCI AT PAR WITH DUAL CITIZENSHIP...JUST LONG TERM VISA MAKES NO SENSE. WHAT YOU WILL DO WITH LONG TERM STAY ???
