A lot of students whom I interacted with said that they were bunt out 2 years into engineering. Engineering is a tough course. So is breaking rocks. Engineering has a lot of exams and people spend way too much time preparing for exams. Weighing of exams in the student grades should be offset by assignments and projects - this would encourage people to work throughout the year and improve their skills at solving problems instead of at solving exams.

Competing in a competition like this should be equivalent to a course and students should be graded based on how well they did.

Genesis of Bureaucratic Power & its Prospects of Decline in India: A Case Study of Jammu &Kashmir. Look for the PDF. It is a research paper which depicts the rise of bureaucratic power in J&K, with its inherent pitfalls, if used indiscriminately. This paper also portrays the probability of its decline in case the reins are taken over by the citizenry as a result of an administrative revolution.
