A lot of students whom I interacted with said that they were bunt out 2 years into engineering. Engineering is a tough course. So is breaking rocks. Engineering has a lot of exams and people spend way too much time preparing for exams. Weighing of exams in the student grades should be offset by assignments and projects - this would encourage people to work throughout the year and improve their skills at solving problems instead of at solving exams.

"Skills" encompass everything. I can speak about a few that I know of from my field. Engineering / Applied Science Education - The second most populous country in the world cannot compete in Code Jam (2014 result : https://code.google.com/codejam/contest/7214486/scoreboard?c=7214486). Competing in a competition like this should be equivalent to a course and students should be graded based on how well they did.

There is a lot of unused talent and skill already in our country, while focusing on skill development, perhaps we should also be focusing on utilizing the skill set already available to us. I'm sure there are millions like me who want to do something to build this country's future, but just don't know where to start.

Currently, population looks to be a bane of this country. Why not turn it into a boon. Our country is equal to some 20-25 countries in terms of population and area. If more than 50% of our youth are skilled, we can move towards the top tier of industrialized countries. This results in increased exports and strengthening of ₹

there are many engineering graduates not from iit or nits but they have capability to do better but they are going other sectors without any interst bcz seek for employment.I think if they can trained properly for one year in there interest field they can do even better,as now a days many private coachings do and student slect for ese and gate psu others...gov. must look
