तेजी से आगे बढ़ते शहरीकरण और "ब्यूटीफुल सिटी" हरी भरी विरासत के संरक्षण के लिए प्रतिज्ञा तथा चुनौतियों के साथ, चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन हमेशा अपने निवासियों, यात्रियों और पर्यटकों के लिए एक स्वच्छ और स्वस्थ वातावरण बनाने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। पारिस्थिति की अनुकूल और टिकाऊ प्रौद्योगिकी के जरिये “स्मार्ट सिटी मिशन” के तहत शहर पे ध्यान केंद्रित किया जाएगा।

"स्वच्छता 2009-2010 पर शहरों की रैंक" (शहरी विकास मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार द्वारा जारी किए गए सर्वेक्षण) के अनुसार चंडीगढ़ 73.48 अंक लेकर प्रथम स्थान पर तथा मैसूर 70.65 अंक लेकर दूसरे स्थान पर रहा| चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन के निवासियों की सफाई के बारे में अधिक बेहतर और प्रभावी योजना में निरन्तर प्रयासरत रेहने में नागरिकों से सीधा आया हुआ परामर्श एक महत्वपूर्ण दूरदर्शिता देगा|

इस लिए चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन नागरिकों को उनके परामर्श, विचार और सुझाओं के लिए आमंत्रित करता है ताकि कुशल साफ़ सफाई लक्ष्य प्राप्त किया जा सके|

traffic police should be privatised so that traffic offenders can be caught and forced to pay fine and also provide community service like watering the plants, sweeping the roads, collecting garbage and throwing into dustbins, helping traffic police catching hold of other traffic violaters etc. so commuters will start obeying traffic rules and govt will save money being wasted towards corrupt traffic police salary, will earn birbeless revenue and cleaning workforce for free for cleaner and greener city. this system should gradually turn out to be a national policy.

first of all place bins for disposing off the waste on all the roads at every 500 mts. If there is dustbin then only waste will reach proper location instead of lying on the streets. Initiate sanitation awareness program involving them in competitions between colleges / schools / offices / departments

I am a resident of sector 15 c chandigarh. There is garbage collection/dumping site very near to my house and it is in the mid of residential locality,gurudwara, school, child care centre.Earlier it was built to collect dry leaves etc and make organic manure but now it has been converted into dumping sight which is source of foul smell and unhealthy conditions for the surrounding where children come to school, elders go to gurudawara and moreover it is a residential locality.Please look into.

Sir i always wonder why delhi metro is always clean and neat. Kya waha sirf urban padhe likhe log jate h...par phir bhi wo clean h...kyuki log ek dusre ko dekh kar jyada seekhte h aur karte h... So need of d hour for cleaniness is to promote culture for cleaniness. Putting sign boards nd dustbin at at evry shop or at evry 500. Mtr. Nd govt can do thinga like licesence unko milega jo apne shop ya jo bhi wo khole uske aage dustbin rakhe 2. Nd put signboards to putt d garbage in dustbins.

educated people are dirtying it and uneducated people are cleaning our city. Our government problem is that they don't create some rules and charges for dirtying people .education is important in india. charges also important because we are Indians we follow the rules then we give charge that's it

you should try to add some technical dustbins in Chandigarh means you just put the waste in dustbin it will sucked by vacuum to other place it will change way of collecting waste and it will change the way of cleaning . means when dustbin's are fully filled wasted come out it will help to avoid that problem . and you have to add some strict rules and camera for every sector and a guide for every sector to watch the camera recordings

First be strict with public that "if you litter you will be fined."A toll free number can be given to public that if they see anyone spitting or littering on road they can call that number and action can be taken on them by government officials.Nothing can happen with swachh bharat abhiyan if the above is not followed
