To curb this issue, Govt can initiate the following: >Attractive local transport packages >Collaboration with private cab owners for car pooling >Mandatory work from home once in a week >Online ticketing system for localities >Hi-tech bus service for comfortness those who are used to travelling in their AC cars

#PCRA Idea 2- if a person shows receipt travelling in a public transport vehicle once in a week for at least 4 consecutive weeks ( one month) ; he should be given discount of 50% for next two journeys. (It should be ensure that this travelling should be of route to his office) Challenges with this idea- 1 we have poor public transport system 2 only govt. buses provide receipt. (This can be enforced)

#PCRA Idea 1- if a person shows receipt of parking his vehicle at a parking area for 24 hours (in a single slot) for at least 4 consecutive weeks ( one month) ; he should be given 6 free parking (4+2) Challenges with this idea- 1 we have less no of paring areas 2 no parking area provide a permanent slip (this can be enforced)

Software companies (or any other companies which can accommodate work from home) should encourage employees to work from home once in a week, cab companies like uber etc.. should encourage pool, public transportation should have a way to record and analyze usage of transportation trends and maximize the occupancy, educate the citizens on how they could minimize the emissions. These could be the basic measures. But, we need to have more research on effecting accountability on each ones usaage

It should be the opposite. 90% of the IT population are on the road going to office Today all the IT professional have broad band or 4G enabled. About 90% of IT professional except system, network engineers can work from home kindly make a law that all IT professional should Work From Home for 4 days in a week. This will reduce car and bike traffic in bangalore by 90% No need to expand on roads we can save trillions of dollars spent on roads. IF we can spend 1% on expansion of broadband

We can avoid private transport if we hav good public transport. I stay in Bangalore, it's a nightmare to deal with taxi and auto who charge exorbitantly. No proper rail system, phase wise metro implementations will take years , I will be more than happy to use public transport if it's convenient for public , no hopes though

#PCRA, #MPNG, #MyGov Apart from social status, private vehicle provides people with speed, comfort, private space etc. Following may be reformed for encouraging people to avoid Petrol/diesel once a week: 1. More trees may be planted to relieve the cyclists from scorching heat. 2. Road safety may be implemented more strictly. 3. People commuting in public transport may be made aware of civic sense. 4. Numbers and comfort-ability of public transport may be enhanced.

I think common people uses their private vehicles/cabs /autos for the commute convenience. I think Govt should think of an initiative, where BUS/Metros for a day in a week run for a subsidized or free of cost. And the no of services be increased. This will definitely encourage people to commute in public transportation. Private companies hould be encourage to have a mandatory Carpool day once a week and be assessed on their carbon foot prints. Same goes with Govt offices.
