AFter pio merged to OCI, some genuine applicants find it difficult to prove their indian origin with school leaving, work expereience, question of nativity/domicile arises, however for pio, there was no such need , requirement for pio priviously on parents basis for foreigner,British passport,naturalisation/Registration,Birth Certificate, marriage certificate, parent born in India, one becomes eligible for PIO, here there is no question of domicile/nativity, but for OCi there is ?

When a foreigner applies for Indian visa and he/ she is asked about his/her religion, the first impression they get about our country is that, India is not truly secular country and here religion is considered above humanity.Discrimination has become an ugly word, and great effort should be made to remove it. The call of the day is for unity and equality.

We are happy the PIO is merged to oci, but the rules of PIO are not acceptable and for this reason, have a friend, who is of Indian Origin, unable to apply for oci. Rule for pio he qulified has-/British Passport, photo, birth certificate, marriage certificate.& father born in india, but his application gets turned down.although his unmarried sister had oci on fathers birthplace basis.

I am in UK and just received email for oci booklets which says " Dispatch of documents is suspended w.e.f. 20th May 2015 due to some dispute between MOIA and DHL. You may like to contact the OCI Cell in MOIA on Tel. No. 91-11-24100025 or 91-11-24197941 (Mr. Bhatia).Somebody responsible should make alternate arrangement to clear the backlog.

I reside in Ireland for the past 5 years and I dread going to the Indian embassy here. For some reason, every time I go to the embassy here in Dublin, it seems like they take sadistic pleasure in making it hard for people to get the service they deserve. Irish citizens dread to go to Indian embassy for their visas as the staff handling the requests and accepting applications are not only rude but speak in a tone of condonement.

I am writing on behalf of NRIs in USA. GOI wants all NRI PIO card holders to register it for OCI card. Is it not logical that Indian Embassies issued PIO cards only after checking all documents, background information etc. Why is this company (CKGS) hired by Indian Embassy asking so many additional support documents just to register the PIO card? Is it back to GOI Red Tape?

Mr. Prime Minister: You promised us (NRIs in USA) that the PIO registration to OCI card process will be simplified. Employees of company hired by Indian Embassy, named Cox and King Global Services" are showing all "RED TAPE" methods for registration of PIO card to OCI. They are collecting fees and not processing the applications. It is very disappointing how NRIs are treated by these CKGS employees. We need some action not just promises.

Indian Embassy in USA has hired "COX & KINGS GLOBAL SERVICES" to process applications for PIO card registration. The employees answering phone (stationed in India) and replying to e-mails are providing false information to current PIO card holders for registration to OCI card. CKGS is collecting nonrefundable fees and holding the applications. They ask unnecessary support documents. I am requesting GOI officials to take steps and simplify the process for PIO cardholders to register for the OCI.
