'Know your India' scheme can be introduced where educative holidays for NRIs can be organised lasting 1-2 months in which they visit production houses, meet actual business people. With this first hand knowledge, they will be in better position to judge the potential and get proper understanding of the work culture, availability of skilled labour, production costs here. Suitable changes in rules and regulations and proper infrastructure should be provided to attract such business people.

During Pravasi Bharatiya Divas there should be booths of various engineering/It companies and of educational universities /IIT's. This will enhance the understanding of NRI's with Indian needs. Furthermore, professional NRI's should be encouraged to stay for a limited period of time (even for a month) in India, particularly at IIT's and this will expose the students to international standards. This should involve least cost and should include only travel+boarding and lodging.

Government provides compensation to the family of deceased husband (Police, Defense etc). Majority of the burden is on the wife. Create Bhartiya Mahila Bank (BMB) as nodal organization for management of relief money. Bank can provide monthly income to the family, provide insurance and guide the family in financial matters. This will help the family in securing the money. Bank can work with state/district level people to ensure transparent money disbursal and management.

Our Tax policies as well Tax structure is the main deterrent for NRIs not to freely come forward to invest in their country even if they feel moved to. The Indian Government may demarcate areas like Village Development, Free Education, Employment of para-medics to work in the rural areas, building and providing sanitary facilities in village areas, promotion of village industries, setting up of Khadi weaving centres in rural areas, in which they can invest through Tax free National Bonds.
