NEP 2016 has been prepared for the Brick and Mortar education system, which is likely to be replaced by Technology enabled and e-learning soon and should be planned as the main mode of learning supplemented by blended learning such as laboratory and practical sessions. NEP 2016 should be completely revised to embrace technology enabled blended learning as the main mode of learning to address issues of quality, lack of teachers , to reduce cost of education and to increase access to education

To Improve quality -Shift from In-class learning to e-learning/Blended learning by providing self learning video lectures by country’s accomplished top teachers for each subject at the starting of the academic session(NPTEL model). In class sessions contact can be reduced to 4 hours/per day for 3 days for each batch, so the existing capacity in schools and colleges can be increased by 4 times.Remaining time to be utilized by students for preparation, practicals,library, projects,sports,study

As English is not our native language, it is natural for our students to have doubts about using proper grammar, vocabulary etc (more so, in rural). In this context,if the text books themselves have some mistakes here and there, it will add further to their confusion. Instead, if it is correct and can be taken as granted, it will help the student to correct himself gradually and become professional over a period of time. The language the teacher uses in the class also plays a similar role here.

Sometimes, the science and technology teachers may not be able to write that good English, though they may be very good at their subject knowledge. In such cases, help can be taken from professional language experts, to present the content properly with required style and narration. It not only enables the students to read that text with ease, but also makes them to adopt that professional style of writing, which will help them in long run.

Clarity in the language (English language) is also important. The language used in some text books of school and college level, is not that good. The narration should be with required continuity. Otherwise, it will be boring to read that text, however great thing it tries to explian.

Offering the content with good clarity is very much essential. Teachers need to strengthen themselves in this aspect (not all; but some). If needed, ICT animations etc can be used. Students should not be burdened with mugging up the content for examination purpose. That kind of content will go away from their memory once the examinations get over.

The teachers (or the institution as a whole) that motivate the students to do well, need to be appreciated and given incentives. Metrics like the number of students qualified in National talent Exams, Olympiads, Contributions in Social Activities, Achievement in sports etc can be taken into account.

Faculty Training : Faculty training is very important these days. Training the faculty to meet the new generation demands and devising methods to update themselves, are essential. Training is needed not only in their main subject areas but also in the areas of how to offer the content effectively, taking into consideration the psycho-dynamics of the students. Effective usage of ICT tools is needed (not for the name sake or the irrelevant ones).

I sincerely request the government to set up only ONE central board in the country till class 12. A student finds it really difficult to select between state board,ICSE board, CBSE board and IB board. More over the criteria for admission in any professional course is different for different boards. Every year students crib about not getting admission because of change in board or being in open category.
