Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) is glad to inform its citizens that Mangalore has been shortlisted among 100 cities which are ought to be developed as Smart Cities in concurrence ...

Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) is glad to inform its citizens that Mangalore has been shortlisted among 100 cities which are ought to be developed as Smart Cities in concurrence to the Smart City Mission Guidelines of MoUD, GOI. Based on the responses received from citizens during Round one and two alongside considering the scheme guidelines, the Corporation has proposed two pan-city proposals, highlighted as below;

1. “One Touch Mangaluru”
2. Smart Utility Management System for water, waste management and electricity

More details of the project are available in the MCC website.

All citizens of Mangaluru are requested to go through the project details and submit their views w.r.t the proposals through www.mygov.in

Last date for submission is 11th December 2015.

1.Roads should be perfect. Should arrange skywalk in some places. Footpath is important for all roads. 2. Everything should be digitalised. 3. Should maintain dustbins in all bus stop/bus stand & in front of all stores/hotels. Need to be keep strict on waste handling. Everyone should handover waste by deviding. (Dry waste n wet waste). 4. Should ban strike & procession inside the town. Have to arrange one seperate ground for them. 5. Need to improve tourism, biological parks etc.

A vision that adds economic, social and environmental value could be key to attracting investment from tech companies, universities and elsewhere.We need a disaster proof, self-sufficient town that generates its own electricity & food with emphasis on Solar energy,organic farming,clean water etc. All the infrastructure initiatives planned for smart city need to be designed to reduce energy consumption & pollution
